Q: Are you still ok with getting back into Dollarama here...? it looks to be in a possible bottom/reverse mode now . Or are there better sector plays .
Q: whats your overall thoughts on retail in Canada in general? all these retail names have expeirenced sizable pull backs, and are looking more attractive now. is the strength of the consumer that large of a threat?
Q: Hello 5i, Thanks very much for all you do for your members. I look at your organization as the "Robin Hood" of the Canadian financial industry. My question today is: I sold my ECI this last week and decided to capture the gain and redistribute to one new position with the proceeds. I'm looking for another dividend aristocrat (as identified by the S&P index or one that could be as CIX will be getting the boot) I'm closing in on retirement but still like to stay in the growing type names. Not terribly worried about maximizing my income at this point. Which of my choices do you think has the most upside over the next 5 years.
Q: Dollerama stores are everywhere. They must be reaching a saturation point. I understand that they are trying to move up the value chain and gradually increasing prices. But they also face pressure from the potential tariffs on Chinese goods since the majority of their products are sourced from China. Do you still like this company or is there another retail company that would be a better fit?
thanks in advance.
Q: Looking to add either CTC.A or PBH to my Income producing portfolio. Which would you recommend at this time if I was looking for some growth as well ?
Thanks
Q: Hi 5i team,
With the recent pullback in the stock price of both Canadian Tire (CTC.A) and Alimentation Couche-Tard, if you only had to pick one, which one would you choose for the next 3-5 years?
Q: hello 5i:
with the understanding that they are worlds apart, and knowing that I am down substantially on ECN, would you think a switch to CTC.A would be a prudent move? Looking at a long term chart (5 years, or 10 years), and reviewing its earnings expectations (seem to meet or beat on an annual basis), it appears that CTC.A, is, at worst, fairly valued, and at best, lightly undervalued. Factoring in the Helly Hansen acquisition seems to make it look more undervalued. Your comment please, and I am NOT adverse to continuing to hold ECN.
thanks
