Q: Can you provide assistance with 2-3 US names you would consider "balanced equity" and 2-3 for "growth".

Thanks.

Q: I've held MMM for the last several years, but have become increasingly uneasy with its valuation (though it's not the only stock I feel that way about!). Do you think MMM's current valuation warrants an exchange with another US industrial? If so, could UTX foot that bill and would it complement my other holdings in that space: NFI, SIS, WSP and XYL. Other/better suggestions most welcome! While I have enjoyed the relative stability MMM has provided to my portfolio, I could be comfortable with something a little "growthier" in that space.

Q: I'm increasing some sector weightings in my RRIF portfolio, and wish to use up some US$. Could you suggest a couple of industrial names - and perhaps an industrial ETF? Thanks, Roland

Q: Hi team,

Just wanted to ask what you think about the earning release yesterday. Do you think ESLT still has the torque for a similar growth in the future as it has been enjoyed in the past or would it go sideways for while. The stock is down about 8% from its high of 153$. Would you suggest something better?
Have a wonderful day while trying to help us all out!

Q: Talk of a dividend cut has been circulating for a while. Down $9 bucks a share on this behomoth! Is this what the street will be happy with--a dividend cut so that they can start growing? Would you hang on for an eventual turnaround or buy something (suggestion?) similar industry but growing. Thanks.

Q: Hello Peter, I want to have a reasonable allocation to US industrials, including companies like UTX and Texas Instruments, those in the defence sector, etc. I'd like to do this via a well-priced ETF but am a bit lost in the growing ETF jungle. I already have small 2% positions in IWO and QQQ. To best gain exposure to the US industrial sector (including industrial technology stocks that are more economically sensitive), would you suggest I just add to these two ETFs, or can you suggest a better or more targeted one? (I do have a preference for Vanguard as a company, but that's not essential.) Thanks in advance!

Q: Good afternoon,
Happy to have met part of the team at the money show. Thinking of buying UPS for exposure to increased online purchasing, nice dividend, large cap. Anything else you can suggest ?
UTX is the Rockwell deal a problem or opportunity ? This would be a nice replacement for GE that I sold .

Q: Hello 5i. I'm overweight in CBI and have taken a big hit (35%). Stock sits in my Lira account which I'm unable to touch for 10 yrs. Would you recommend I sit on this and hope for bounce back with possible infrastructure bill to be passed or take my hit now and move on? if so, what would you recommend to replace stock with in U.S. or Can? Please offer 1 stock on each side of the border.

Thx Rob

Q: Hi 5i Team

I'm aiming to increase exposure to US growth in the tech and industrial sectors (preferably with some dividend ) I am open to moderate risk and tend to hold positions for years.

Could you suggest 3 names in each to look into?

Thank you.

Q: Hi,

In light of the Donald's proposed 54 billion dollar budget to increase defence spending, including new aircraft carriers,

Would you suggest buying the rumour ?

From what I gather, chances are this will not pass in its current incarnation.

And if you were inclined to beef up defence in your portfolio, what stocks, mid to large caps would be your preference for a basket of stocks ( I prefer to avoid sector ETFs). Can you rank them ?

Thank you,

Karim

Q: Following Donald's announcement of increased defence spending, I'm contemplating half positions in 3 of the above. Your ranking and perhaps other suggestions would be appreciated, as always.

Q: In answer to another reader's question, you recently recommended the following 4 US tech stocks (NVDA, QCOM, GOOG, CGNX) and four US industrials (FLIR, LLL, UTX, ITRI).

If you had to narrow it down to two in each of these categories (tech and industrials), which would you pick at this time?

Q: Hello Folks:
We hold US industrial stocks such as Cummins, GE, UTX, BA, CVX etc.
It appears likely the incoming U.S. administration will prioritize infrastructure spending. Do you feel this will be the case, and if so, have you some large cap stocks I could consider?
Thank You For Everything
