Q: I am looking at buying either ALA or ALA.r in my RRSP.
I have read your analysis on this matter and am not sure I follow it all. The receipts were issued at $31.00 and are redeemable at $31.00 should the deal not go through. They now trade at $ 29.65. If I buy the receipts ,I will collect the " dividend equivalent ". If the deals goes through ( which I think is likely), I will receive new shares.

It seems a "no brainer" to buy the receipts as you have a capital gain if the deal does not go through. The receipts seems to track the stock which seem to offer a buying opportunity.

What do you think? Thanks

Q: CCL.B Just had their split; my brokerage account shows the new share price of CCL.B, but does not show the new number of shares owned to reflect the split. Is this typical, or is there some action I need to take? Thank you.

Q: Do you have estimated numbers for returns (1-3-5 yr) on your etf model portfolio? Or even better would be calendar year returns back as far as you can go. Much like you have on the equity portfolios.

Looking to have a chat with my advisor about his fees and these numbers would help as me adopting your portfolio is what he needs to beat net of fees. It would be his new benchmark if your returns have been good!

Q: Today I Received from my broker an 'Action Notice' re TA Cumulative Redeemable Rate ResetFirst Preferred Series C' and whether I want to hold these shares or convert them into the Series D preferred.

Q: Peter always good to see you on BNN. You mentioned Altagas' dividend being fine as it would be based on cash flow ( please correct me if I'm misquoting) and therefore a decent investment.

Q: Hello Peter et al:

What is your opinion of SDX? It has some interesting potential in Egypt and Morocco. Natural Gas prices in Morocco is about $9 per Mscf. That is close to 4 times the price in North America. It is a small cap play so it is risky. I have a small position in it.

Q: Hi
In my RRSP telecom sector I have Telus and BCE. This sector is currently only 4% of my portfolio. I'm wondering if it is a good time to top up one or both of these to increase this sector?

Q: Enghouse is down sharply this morning by almost 4%. Is there something that the large institutional investors know or is something else causing this drastic drop on no real news? The second quarter Fiscal 2017 release is scheduled after market close on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Are some large holders of the stock expecting a poor quarter result? What are your expectations for the second quarter?
