Partners Value Split Corp. has a new offer of preferred shares (PVS.PR.L ?) - 5.50 % with a fixed redemption of June 30, 2030.

Is this new issue a reasonable preferred share - if I purchase the shares it will be after the listing as I have been unsuccessful on obtaining ipo shares from my broker.

I fully understand the only return I will receive will be the dividends - this security is for the income portion of my portfolio.

Would you buy one of these companies today, with income the primary objective, and how (and why) would you rank these 3? Is there a better option in this category?

Q: In response to a recent question, you had suggested an appropriate portfolio weighting for the tech sector would be 20-30%. Strictly speaking, I hold about 19% tech ( LMN 4.5%, MSFT 5.55%, NVDA 6.5% and UBER 2%). That said, I also hold an additional 17.6% of what I would consider 'tech-like' stocks: GOOG 5%, AMZN 6.75%, and VRT 5.85%. Would you suggest I am overweight, underweight or nicely balanced in terms of my tech holdings? By way of context, I would describe my investment style as risk-managed growth. Thank you.

Q: Does the 30-40% of the dividend being return of capital in this fund mean that NAV is always being eroded? I want to buy this for the long term but not if NAV is obviously always declining.

Q: I originally submitted this question back on Sept 17 but never received a response so I'll try again. I was wondering if you could provide some investment ideas/suggestions for ongoing contributions to a FHSA, as contribution room becomes available each year. Looking for "reasonable" growth without "excessive" risk over the 15 years of the plan. I am thinking of investing 50% of the yearly $8000 allowable contribution to a CAD-denominated S&P500 ETF and wondered which one you would suggest? Or, would you recommend something else? What is your opinion of XQLT - the iShares MSCI USA Quality Factor Index ETF as compared to an S&P500 ETF? For the other 50% of the yearly contributions I was wondering which two TSX stocks and which two CDR's you would suggest for annual contributions until the $40k plan maximum is achieved in 5 years? How is it possible (or fair) that HWX is having a private placement at 22 cents per share, when the stock is over $^. Isn't that very dilutive for present shareholders? See part of NR below
