Q: I'm interested in investing in one small oil producer at the start up stage. My choice is down to YGR and VLE. I would appreciate your critique of these two companies in terms of growth potential left. Both companies have huge run ups recently and I would like to hear your expert's view on them. Thanks.

Q: I've been a member of 5i for about two years and your help has been substantial. Thank-you. I currently own a portfolio that closely mirrors your balanced portfolio.

My question today relates to one asked recently about Warren Buffet's wishes regarding his investments should he die. I believe it was somethink like 10% to short term bonds and 90% to the S&P 500. I'm seeking advice regarding what a kind of portfolio a Canadian should develop in a similar situation. My wife has no interest in day to day stock analysis. Should she inherit our portfolio, I'd like to construct a 'buy and hold' ETF portfolio, in addition to our current portfolio, with exposure to Canada, the United States and the rest of the world. This would comprise the equity part of a more complete portfolio. Hopefully, it would have the potential to show resonable gains with little attention by the owner. My question is: which 3 ETF's would you choose to gain exposure to the 3 markets for a Canadian who simply wants to buy and hold? What % would you put into each ETF?

Q: Bip.un dropped 2.16 % today ? I’m up 54% on this stock but down 17.84% on HWO. The fundamentals look good for hwo. Should I sell bip.un and average down on HWO, sell both decreasing my tax bill , or keep existing position with the hope that Hwo will recover in the new year.

Q: World economies look good. People have money to gamble with. What gambling companies look the best in Canada . Chinese are biggest gamblers in the world with Aussies number 2. What companies benefit with this growth in China. I assume USA companies benefit the most. Also what do you think about Pollard PBL ?They print lottery tickets and currencies. Q: Hi,
I have many of my stocks enlisted in DRIP. I am a long term investor and don't need to draw on any of the dividends right now and have a well diversified portfolio. What types of stocks would be ideal or better to enlist as DRIP? Growth stocks don't really pay dividends so we can probably ignore those. Comparing stocks such as AQN, GSY, SIS, ECI, SGY, etc..how would you rank them for DRIP or would they all be fine?? I have many stocks that pay decent dividends but I'm trying not to continue to drip in losing stocks where I can invest those dividends elsewhere.
