Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hello,

I have some cash in my TFSA, and I am interested in buying a stock with good growth in capital and dividend appreciation. I am a long term investor.

Currently in my TFSA, I have FAP, CHW, NEPT, PHO, SIS and S.

I am looking at TWM, Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure.

What do you think of TWM? Or do you have a better recommendation?

Thank you very much.
Marc

Q: You had responded to a previous member question about Neptune Tech waiting for its Investor communications on Nov 28th. I see it has sold the Krill Oil business and is now into cannabis derivative products. The current p/e is stated as 5.5 x and there was quite a bit of insider buying (albeit at lower prices). Has your opinion changed as to whether this would be a good speculative purchase for me?
Thanks,
Brian

Q: I should have gotten rid of these two dogs long ago, but "Nooooo!" Always hoping they'd bounce back. So does one just dump PetroWest at this point and get anything you can? I notice a company called Crown Capital has issued a release, hoping to salvage as much as possible (the assets have to be worth something). As for Neptune (thanks Alex Ruus), do I sell my shares, buy a compass and send it to management, which seems to have no sense of direction?

Q: Can you please comment on this quarter, I am specifically looking for growth outlook, at a glance it looks better to me but I am not an expert in financials.

Can you also please comment on the recent resolving of litigation and the partnership that was just formed. How do you see these affecting sales and bottom line, if at all?

I have owned this name for a while and need to decide whether I should hold or take my losses. Any names you would replace it with in the same sector?

Q: I am puzzled by this company. Other than their SG&A being too high the company seems, on the surface, to be improving. They had a major fire at their plant in PQ which created a supply issue with regards their customer base but that has been resolved. They had some problems with a few other countries trying to ignore their IP but that has pretty much resolved. There are only two countries that can sell their product (krill oil) into China and Canada is one of them. They just announced their first quarter results as below;
Revenues reached $11.3 million, up 270% versus last year
• Gross margin on sales rose to 30.5%
• Nutraceutical segment generated positive Adjusted EBITDA of $1.1 million compared to a loss of $3.2 million a year ago
• Completed first sale in Chinese market and of MaxSimil® in July
• Cash balance of $5 million
• Revised Revenues guidance from $41 to $43 million
I have my opinion on this company but I would appreciate your perspective.

Thanks
Pat Sherman
