Q: What do you think of TTR? Is it investible, or is it too tiny/early to really evaluate? I like the sector and have a full position in TFII already.

Q: HPR has dropped from the 9.60-9.70 range to below 9.00 in the last while, including yet another big drop today. I always thought a managed Pref ETF would not drop as much as the overall market during a correction and that it would be a defensive holding. Apparently not a correct assumption. So, what is happening with this ETF - should I sell and buy something more secure like a Utility, buy more of this ETF or what? My goal with this part of my portfolio is lower risk.

Q: Good Morning: I hold positions in the above cdn. energy companies and not surprisingly am under water in all of them. Would like to reap the capital losses without being totally out of the sector. I'm looking at one of two possible options: 1, sell these and buy Vermillion; or 2. buy a cdn. etf that focuses on cdn. junior and mid cap oil and gas names. So, first, which of these strategies would you prefer, and second, if an etf, do you have some recommendations. I continue to consider my subscription to your advice and service good value. Q: HI guys
Valore metals has announced that they will be issuing rights to current shareholder at $ .10, they have already done a 10-1 rollback, so I guess there will be more dilution by basically doubling the share count, if I read it right.With the stock trading at $.27 would that not mean that the stock would be worth $.14, if that is the case would the play not be, to buy more shares and take advantage of the rights offering. What are your thoughts of the company in general.

Q: My question is on tax treatment of GIC interest.
Is the interest on a GIC reported only in the year the interest is received; or is the interest pro-rated to that portion allocated to the calendar year, even if not received in that year.
Example - a 1 year annual GIC bought in say July 1, 2018, but not maturing until July 1, 2019. Is the interest to be reported on the 2018 tax filing zero, or is it a half year's worth of interest, even though not yet received in 2018?

MFT, according to my brokerage research shows a current yield of 7.75%. Does that not seem high? I know MFT has fallen 1.2% over the past 3 weeks, is that why?

Lafayette, Louisiana (November 19, 2018) Viemed Healthcare, Inc. (the “Company” or “Viemed”) (TSX:VMD.TO), a home medical equipment supplier that provides post-acute respiratory care services in the United States, announces that it is not aware of any material undisclosed information in the business, operations or affairs of the Company that may be contributing to the level of trading activity of its shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange.



The Company suspects that the activity could be related to a recent report that Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is considering adding various codes to the next round of the Competitive Bidding Program (CBP), one of which is ventilators. The Company will be submitting comments to CMS in the normal course of business. Comments are due to CMS by December 3, 2018. The Company does not believe that ventilators should be included in the CBP. Additionally, the Company is aware that the CBP has been temporarily suspended starting January 1, 2019, therefore, any changes should not be effective until January 1, 2021, at the earliest.

Q: Does the reduced outlook that NVDA gave yesterday affect your thoughts on Photon PHO at all? Does the guidance from both companies "jive" as to the general outlook? Or is Photon so small that it could grow rapidly even with the reduced macro outlook? I'm trying to figure out how agressive to be with Photon since I do like the changes the company has made in the last couple of years.

Q: What is the difference between shares and units? On the TSX site the June 2018 quarterly report shows diluted average shares as 75.23m. In the most recent SEDAR filing they talk about diluted average units of 56.7m and do we divide the net income of $7.7m by 75m or 57m? (units are defined as the units that are traded on the TSX)
Also in your Nov 8 reply to Peter you indicated that EPS of $0.11 and revenue of $260m were expected. In the SEDAR filing we are told that the income per unit was $0.14 and revenue was $359m. Is this an improvement over expectations, or are we talking about different things?

Q: Considering the recent moves in natural gas, could you comment again on Altagas. Dry gas has moved sharply higher while gas liquids have gone in the opposite direction.
The questions I have in mind include:
- With higher gas prices will their power generation suffer or are they hedged?
- Will higher prices effect their pipeline volumes and storage facilities favourably?
- Will their new construction project on the coast be effected?
- Do they connect to dry gas fields that have shut in wells while prices were low?
Finally, are the moves too recent with too many moving parts to even comment reliably?

With regards to the latest conservative ETF portfolio ;
With the average yield of all the ETF`s being 3.23%, is this before MER`s are taken into account or after ?
Also what's your rational for using HYGH vs XHY ?
Also tax loss selling generally only applies to non-registered accounts correct ?Please deduct several points .

My daughter asked for my recommendation on where to invest the $22K she and her husband have in our two grandchildrens' (10 & 7) RESP. They are currently in a 60/40 set of bank mutual funds, and they contribute $100K a month. They are prepared to accept moderate risk. I don't particularly like bank M-funds, and am thinking to suggest 40% in a 5-year GIC, and 60% in blue-chip dividend payers like BCE, BNS &/or ENB. I would appreciate your advice on my general approach and stock picks.
