Q: Just trying to understand this type of instrument. Why would PGIC drop from $90 in 2006 to $4 in 2010 and then trade between $17 and $4 up to 2025? I don;t need specifics, just a general answer would do. Thanks.

Further to my last question on PGIC, (you may have covered this), why would this not recover after 2010 with the rest of the market?

Q: Good Afternoon.
What is your opinion of Chemtrade? Does it have some growth potential? Is the dividend safe? Also, I have owned Topaz for a while and it has been hovering around the 25-26 dollar range. Is there much growth left in this company?
I am considering switching from Topaz to Chemtrade for more growth and a higher dividend. What is your opinion of this move?

Q: Just want to confirm my understanding of attribution rules on these points below:
1. If a grandparent gifts $5,000 to an adult grandchild (over age 18) to be used for investing purposes, there is no attribution rules applicable.

2. But no such luck, if gifting funds to a spouse or to a minor child under 18, where the funds are being used for investing. Attribution rules will apply.

3. If a spouse puts the gifted funds in a TFSA, how will CRA be able to track attribution back to the gifter?
