Q: I hold a half position of AQN and wish to add further renewable energy holdings. I am considering increasing AQN or initiating positions in NPI, BLX or BEP.UN
Would you please rank these four. Should I consider others?

Q: Hi 5i,
Looking to reduce some of the risk with the above Consumer Cyclical stocks, I'm currently at 14% portfolio weight with each of the stocks equal in sector weight.

How many would you keep, consolidate and/or replace with new to be sector diversified with less risk?

Q: I own the ETF CGL.C and AEM and just wondering if I really need to own CGL.C.?Looking at the history of this ETF it has not done too much in return and wonder if it would be better to just sell CGL.C and put the proceed into AEM as my weight is not very high in AEM. Both are in a non -registered account. Your thoughts?

Q: ESM has been performing very well in the past month. I am up over 70% in the matter of weeks. I almost begin to worry it is too good to be true. What can you say about such a rapid growth and what news releases should I pay attention to?
Also ESM had two major drops in the past (Nov 2008 and end of 2013), what happened then and what signs to be on the lookout for this time?

Q: Hello 5i

I am a retired cautious investor who is slowly moving from individual stocks in both my registered and non-registered accounts to Mawer 105.

I do, however, believe in diversification. As I slowly unwind my accounts with their individual diversified holdings would it be wiser to spread my future investments between such products as Mawer 105 and VBal or simply go “all in” with one or the other ... or any other product you would suggest?

I am very impressed.
Being in my mid 60's I now have reduced my holdings to under 20 from 80.
Makes life easy and now I can retire.
I was 100% Canadian, I have now covered all areas Canada, US and International.
Money well spent

Q: I read/hear on BNN and on this site regularly that inflation is low. To anyone who does grocery shopping or shopping of any kind, inflation is definitely "not" low. Prices have increased dramatically over the last few years on pretty much everything. I realize the low Canadian dollar contributes to this, but I think Economist are too busy looking at charts and not actually paying bills. This has at least been my experience, can't talk for anyone else.

Q: I have received material from Methanex from the current management/Board as well as the dissident shareholders who wish to place 4 new Board members on the Board. What would you recommend to do in this case, vote with the current management/Board, or vote to replace some of the current Board with the 4 new nominees? I only have a small position in MX.

Q: to further clarify a question asked yesterday, what is the longer term (7-10 year) outlook for the capital(par) value of rate reset prefereds issued by enbridge, TransCanada, Brookfield and others issued in the 2014-2016 period that had reset rates without floors in the 2.6-2.7 % range plus bank of Canada 5 yr bond rates. is it worth holding onto them hoping they will appreciate if interest rates go up and the economy holds steady? what is the weight you would give them in a portfolio lasting at least 20 years... thanks

Q: Yahoo Finance is showing an ex-dividend date for Crius on May 30, 2019. Is there another dividend due on closing the transaction with Vistra? Also, I noticed that Credit Suisse acquired over 6 million shares of Crius on April 10 and 11 at a price that appears to average about $8.58 or $0.22 below the closing price. It seems that would produce a profit of $1,320,000 on closing. Not bad for a couple of months of holding the stock. Have I got this right?
