Q: This is a followup to my question on PSA. For shorter term funds how would you rate the safety/risk between PSA and HFR ? Are there any tax implications in a TFSA for either product .
Also, a suggestion - I notice a number of people are looking for a place to park money with some degree ( including 100% ) of safety but don't necessarily want to get locked into GIC's. Any chance you could do a comparison chart for various alternatives that you feel would be appropriate, including tax impact for TFSA, other registered funds, and non-registered ?
Thanks again.

Q: Buy and hold Canadian dividend stocks, forever, is my core strategy, and I dislike reits as I regard them as inferior long term securities. That said I am considering CAR.U because I like the exposure to apartment real estate What is your very long term view of this security decades out. Could it potentially morph into a common stock many, many years out and do you view it as a worthwhile hold for that time frame.

Q: FFIV.us disappointed shareholders and price dropped on results that didn’t look that bad. The shares have run up a lot though. Is FFIV still worth buying? How does it look on pure fundamentals especially debt levels? Do you like its business model? Does it handle competition well?

Q: I am reviewing my sector allocation and depending on how I place TRP , ENB, FTS and IPL, I can have up to 14.6 % of Equities or ~5% of Equities in Energy. Can you comment on the following and tell me if they are all in the Energy sector in your opinion : CNQ ( 2%), ENB(3%), FTS(3%),IPL(1%), SU(2%), and TRP(3.5%).

Q: I am rebalancing my portfolios which include two nonregistered accounts (1 Cdn $ and 1 US $), a TFSA and an RRSP. I am 70 years old and collecting both CPP and OAS and some of my OAS is clawed back each year. Do you have a chart showing what is the best suited for each of these accounts. So for example are my dividend accounts best to be held in just my RRSP or perhaps in my TFSA as well? What about growth or value stocks, bonds, interest income or EFTs – where do they best belong?
Thank you for your advice.
Dave

Q: Hi, wondering what you would suggest as best buys this week for short term gains given the decline in many sectors or stocks showing new momentum trends? And any long term holds being offered at a good discount to pick up? Thanks for all your good advice!
