Q: Thanks for your prompt answer on MEG. Given these circumstances what does the pricing dynamic look like? HSE failed to offer enough to persuade sufficient share holders to accept their offer, which implies a higher valuation should apply, so even if HSE foresaw issues which made it prudent to withdraw their offer, which should have been priced below their finally acceptable price, the current pricing should be well below that reasonably attributable to MEG, and what is the sentiment that might apply both to share holders that tendered and those that did not?

Q: Darn. I accidentally wrote TFI instead of NFI in my question on a replacement for GS. So lets try this instead as TFII is now in the equation..... TFII, NFI, and TCL.A. Please rank these three in order of preference at current values for a replacement for GS. Thanks Garth

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

Marjorie recently asked a question about Telus:

"Given the recent news re Huawei, Canada/China problems, and the fact that Telus is very invested in the technology, are my Telus shares at risk? Telus is a fairly substantial long term holding in my portfolio."

Could you please answer the same question for BCE? Thanks for your insight.

Q: Based on what I see from GlobeInvestor GS appears to have cut their dividend from last year to this: $1.35 per share versus $1.00 per share. Is that true and why did they cut? Also, with the current high yield would you recommend a buy now for income? I am also thinking that at the current stock price the company may attract a buyer.

Q: If I want to choose between TCL.A and CCL.B for a one year hold, which one would you recommend? I'm looking at the combined growth and knowing TCL.B is ahead of CCL.B on yield (4% vs. 1%) as is. Thank you for your insight.

Q: A great-grandparent has sent us $5000 for our 13 year old, as a small pre-inheritance gift. We want to using this as an investment learning tool, and currently plan to deposit it in my husband's TFSA (he currently has room in it) and will track it's performance separately. We use TD Canada Trust, and thus have access to their WebBroker platform. What would you suggest for a secured investment (GIC or otherwise)? We are looking at a 5 year term, and it can be locked-in.
As always, thanks for all your good info!
Dawn
