Q: Hi Peter and 5i team,
I own some shares of Sylogist in my TFSA . The stock has been performing well lately, hitting 52 week highs. I don’t see any recent news about the company . Has 5i uncovered anything?
Thanks,
Q: Hi 5i Team,
My question is about how to invest in commodities as a buy and hold retail investor. I read in Tony Robbin's book about Ray Dalio's all weather portfolio that it allocates 7.5% to commodities and 7.5% to precious metals. These two asset classes are supposed to protect a portfolio from accelerated inflation. Is this statement accurate?
Q: Could you please give me your analysis/view on BlackRock Health Sciences CEF (BME). It appears to have a very good income and performance track record.
Q: The above listed companies have (I think) been recommended by you over the last year as small caps with growth potential. All are down in the dumps at the moment and I am wondering which, if any, would you now recommend for growth over the short term (one year)
Q: I am pleasantly surprised at SQ performance. Visa is one of the most steady stock and have done well for me . I am considering trimming the gains of V to initate a half position on SQ. Would you consider this a reasonable move
Q: I would like to add tfii or cov or both. however I like to keep my stock holdings number about same.
I am considering cashing out of zzz as it appears to me unable to breakout from perhaps more nimble competitors
Q: Can you give me any insight into the recent news from the company regarding acquisition talks.
Should it be viewed as positive or a risky and potentially dilutive proposal.
Q: Intel looking really cheap on fwd PE. ROE:19% with a 2.6% dividend. Revenue growth of 10%, beaten earnings last 5 quarters, low debt. Grew dividend 9% yoy. Price momentum is poor. Good opportunity to go to a full position at current price? Would you rank it ahead of AVGO?
Q: I own Premium would like to possible do one of two things add more to it or consider maple. How would you rate these two companies and where would you put your money. also open to another similar company should if you recommend one, u.s. or cdn. Thank you. Maureen
Q: As per Seeking Alpha, Dell supposly is ending its contract w/Celestica. The change will reportedly impact 300 employees. If confirmed, do you see that has major or business as usual? How many employess do they have worldwide?
Thanks
Q: PHO keeps going down, now 30% from high. The same story happened with DHX, TV, PHM, PLI, RTH. It seems that somebody knows something and is dumping shares. Once they go down they really go down.
Any news why would start selling hard?
Q: Recently I have sold my position in QCOM and now my equity portfolio has only about a 5% exposure to Technology. The main holding being XLK.
From your growth portfolio, I was considering a small position in PHO. The stock seems to be in decline. Is now a good entry point or should I wait for things to settle?
What Tech stocks or ETFs would you suggest?
Q: I own Sun life but would like to add another growing insurer that pays a decent dividend. I am considering buying any one of the above or perhaps you would offer another better qualified company. Much thanks. Maureen
Q: Thank you for answering my previous question re TCL-A.
With respect to Photon, Is this dead money for awhile? Should I take my gain and move on to something else?
In my recent question, I listed my holdings in my TFSA. PHO accounts for a tad less than 6%.
Q: Following up on Marios' question from Sep 19 which was:
"PHO is selling pretty hard on higher volume today and on a down trajectory since august. Lost 23 %.
What gives?",
I have the same question except a day later on Sep 20 it still gets pummeled but at yet much higher volume at 1.3 million volume vs a 50-day avg volume of 0.255 million. That stock has really taken a dive on "no news". Given no news, could you please educate me on possible explanations for this price movement with such relative hefty volume? Anything possibly nefarious here? Or is this just normal territory for a $2 stock (even though it's a "good" company). Thank you. I really appreciate your insights.
