Q: I have decided to lower my exposure to the energy sector. I currently own both WCP and CJ in roughly equal amounts. If I want to sell only one, which would you keep and which would you let go.

Q: Peter, do you think MAL is a good long term holding? I bought my position a while ago, and it's now~ 15% of my holdings. I wouldn't sell any, but I really don't know. Do you think is risky to hold on? Thank you

Q: I am baffled why this preferred is such a dog. I also own a preferred ETF (CPD) in my RRSP that is tanking.
Can you shed some light on why these are doing so badly? As well, how does the future regarding these holdings look to you?

Q: I purchased GC in 2015 and am currently down 27%. It's rated B in your rankings. The stock price is down to at best sideways, it does not pay a dividend. Not a lot of positives to say.

!)Would you hold it given where it is and the outlook.
2)If not, what would you replace it with that won't be 'dead' money?

I currently own all 3 of your portfolios.

Thanks

Sheldon

Q: I sold my Teck, unfortunatly in an RRSP, and am watching it closely in order to buy back in if it turns. I noticed today that was a big jump of over 25 per cent in the stock price. I also noticed that a number of analysts had raised their projections on Teck and that at least some of them commented on the debt that Teck carries and said that they think it can pull it off, thus the reason for the more positive projections. Would these ananalysts alone be enough to give this kind of boost? Or, has something else changed?
thanks as always for the great work

Q: I've seen that you sometimes post questions to fellow readers and I'm wondering if you'd mind my asking if anyone can help me with a problem. I've tried saving TD webroker confirmations to keep for income tax purposes, and all I get is blank pages. I haven't tried printing them, since that would defeat the whole purpose of paperless documentation. Has anyone been able to do this? My computer is a Mac. I realize you may feel this is an inappropriate forum for this query and choose not to post it, but if you do post it, my sincere thanks!

Q: Question 1: Peter will you publish your article on US covered calls on this site (my experience says lower volatility means better premiums)?
Question 2: Did you ever remove Boyd Group (BYD.UN) from one of your portfolios.

Q: Hi Peter and team!! Happy family day weekend! My advisor has suggested investing in Algonquin Power Convertible Bonds. To tell you the truth, I never quite know whether these are a good deal or not. Here's the terms: This is a 10 year 5% convertible bond, where only 1/3 of the bond's face value is due on closing Mar1/16. The instalment receipt priced at 33.30 per 100 will earn 15% until the second instalment is due 15-90 days after approval is granted for their acquisition of the Empire District Electric Company. Interest is paid quarterly and the bonds are convertible at $10.60/ common share of Algonquin Power. This is for my RRSP. What do you think ? Is this a good investment ? Any caveats? Regards and thank you, Tamara

Q: On February 9,2016 Allan responded to Mike's search for dividend aristocrats. He gave the following site www.dividendgrowthinvestingandretirement.com/Canadian-dividend-all-star-list. Thank you very much Allan! This site will be extremely useful to me.
Has anyone found a similar site for U.S. stocks? I have tried playing around with that site's name but to no avail.
Many Thanks

Paul

Q: Peter,

Do you think the management team at PHM is competent enough to run a public company?

After listening to the latest earnings call, they can’t forecast the simplest of financial metrics namely revenue growth or gross margins. How can they run a company without this basic awareness of what is going on?

Thanks
John
