Q: I am a vlaue investor, 76 years old, good pension. 43 stocks, 16 ETF's including the above covered call ETF's. I do have some growth holdings (IWO, LNF, WSP).All are doing well except ZIM and SYZ (not worried). My question is the covered call holdings are 10% of my portfolio. Is 10% too much? I do enjoy the $650 a month dividends which have been consistent for the past five months.
Thank you

Q: Hello 5i
I hold the above covdered call ETF's as well as at least two individual companies from each (from before I bought these). also have over 10 ETF's that are not cover call. I have 51 positions with 49 stocks. These have performed well during this period of unrest. No they do not hit the high notes but not even close to bottom notes either but steadil;y increase in value aside from the dividends. My question is: with these new covered call ETF's at 12% of my investing portfolio (not including GIC's) might this be considered too much? Each is between 1.5% and 2% of the portfolio as are most of my holdings. The dividends are great and have kept up for the last three months. These also hold great companies that I would hold if I had room (and funds to buy them!) as a value investor. Please take as many credits as required.
Thank you
Stanley

Q: Hi Peter. I own ZWH.U which is down about 26%. I had thought that the covered call strategy would have provided some shelter from the downdraft, but it appears that really isn't the case. Oh well. My question relates to going forward. Since the covered call strategy will likely limit future gains, what ETF would you suggest for ZWH.U's replacement in my US accounts? thanks, J

Q: These 2 I believe hold the same holdings. ZWH.U trades in USD. I have been tracking those for about 2 months and notice ZWH is up 4.01% and ZWH.U is up 1.60%.
If they are equal should the percentage be the same once the currency exchange is applied. It is not the case and I’m wondering why ?
Thanks

Q: I am interested in the ZWH or ZWH.U for a registered account. Is effectively the only real difference in these 2 the fact that distributions are paid out and converted to CAD for ZWH whereas the distributions for ZWH.U are paid in USD? While ZWH is "held" in CAD it would be fully impacted by FX movements. Thanks

Q: I know US companies are not your focus however I wanted to get your thoughts on selling GE and allocating some US$- in my rrsp.
I am an income investor and currently hold ZPW-U and ZWH-U in equal weight re investing the dividends monthly. I also have a small position in JNJ and a larger position in GE (7%) of portfolio. I am concerned GE really isn't going anywhere and am considering switching to something with a better outlook any suggestions etf or stock to add here... or should I continue to hold?
I already hold VGG in another account...

Q: We I currently own vfv in my husbands Rrsp account and have done quite well. Since he has now retired we are slowly repositioning his portfolio from income / growth to more income with safety we are thinking of selling vfv and purchasing a covered call etf that would still provide exposure to the us market. Do you think this is a wise decision, and if so what do you think of the Bmo Zwh? And which one would you purchase at this time-ZWH or ZWH.u? Are there other consideration we should be thinking about? Thank you
Maggie
