I am debating trimming some of my RDDT shares to buy an initial position in ENS. Would you endorse this move or no? Which of these 2 names do you see as having the most potential over the next few years? I am a bit torn as I really like the potential I think RDDT has, but also am intrigued over the market opportunity ENS may have in the coming years. Could you do a quick comparison of growth rates and market potential for both?

Q: As more data centres start to come on line, running the equipment will likely offer an opportunity for the likes of Entegris to benefit. I'm curious about what you think of this stock now and what sort of timeline you'd expect to see an increase in demand for their products. Q: Are there any listed international ETF like QQQ.us and XIT. Canadian ?

Q: 5i has been a terrific resource for many things, including recommendations for great stocks that I would never have owned otherwise.. But... I now have too many 'favourites' and need to reduce the number of equities in each of these 3 sectors : Financial, Industrial and Tech. Your suggestions as to a rational approach to the decision making process would be appreciated . I assume there will be different factors for different sectors as well as adjustments to be made depending on whether the preference is for growth, income or a balanced approach. I have reached decision making paralysis - HELP !!

Q: I am looking at starting a position in ENS, and I am at a loss in terms of what investment to sell in order to fund the purchase. I am targeting an initial position of 2.5%-3%, and ideally I would like to sell another investment in the same sector, but there are few candidates in my portfolio which would fit this need. The potential candidates I have listed (WSP, REGN, HL, ATD, CRWD) are all in different sectors, and for all but ATD (small gain at this point) and CRWD (in registered account), would involve recognition of significant capital gains.

I would rather not use margin to initiate such a position, but I could if absolutely needed. I am trying to think outside of the box in terms of starting this investment, but I would prefer to stay disciplined in regards to funding new positions while maintaining diversification. If it helps further, my materials exposure has increaseOnd a fair amount over the last year (as has everyone's), and I have a relatively robust exposure to the technology sector, so if it was prudent for me to trim there, I could probably manage.

I'd appreciate any insights you may be willing to share. Thanks so much, and I look forward to reading your response.

Q: Can I ask you do a little “head to head” comparison for these two? I’m kind of thinking of the way some car websites allow you to select models to compare musts and nice to haves (both have AWD, this one has heated steering wheel and better safety rating) but using valuation, revenue visibility going forward, balance sheet strength or whatever you deem important in these kinds of businesses. You gave me your analysis on BKNG last October, now I’m just kind of wondering how you think UBER stacks up against it. Perhaps you could include any thoughts on geopolitical risks (my feeling rightly or wrongly is that BKNG is a bit more exposed based on inter country business vs UBER’s intra country business?). Lastly, I hate to give you an easy out, but I’m assuming you might say you might prefer to own a 1/2 position of each versus full position of one? Thanks for your analysis/thoughts.

Q: Could you please provide your analysis of Caterplillar. Do you like it and believe that this stock can continue to outperform the broader market after a huge run in 2025, being the Best stock in DOW ?

We already own Finning International, having taken a 4% position, just before recent quarterly results.

Could you contrast the two companies from stability/growth/valuation perspective ?

Does it make sense to own both and if so, what would be a reasonable combined weighting for a Balanced like portfolio ?

Q: Copper has shown a remarkable run, over past 6-9 months and Technical analysts like the move, and believe. it has lot more room to go, after almost a 10 year consolidation.

We took an exposure to Copper, through Hudbay Minerals, with an initial 1% position, during the pull back earlier this week.

What are your thoughts on the commodity/miners and what would be a reasonable weighting in a portfolio similar to 5i Balanced ?

Dou you like HBM ? Or, you would prefer to have Copper exposure through COPX, or any Large/Mid Cap Canadian names and why ?

Q: I'm looking for midsize copper producers in relatively safe jurisdictions. I currently own small positions in TECK, TKO and ERO. I would like to add three or four to give more diversity in my holdings. Would you please list recommendations in order of priority?

Q: Someone asked a question about Taesko TKO mining the other day especially they asked about valuation. Your comment was that it trades at a very high PE and that Lundin Mining was perhaps a better pick. I agree with both of your comment but I think it is important to note that TKO is on the verge of transitioning from a 1 operating mine miner to a miner with two operating mines. The Florencia mine in Arizona is in the start up phase. Florencia is one of the world's first solution mines for copper (kind of like SAGD from the heavy oil industry). Solution is pumped underground, it dissolves (perhaps that is not the correct technical term) the host rock and another well collects the dissolved solution and brings it to the surface where the copper is stripped out of the solution (I believe the solution is then reused). The end product copper needs very little processing (no electrowinning at least). IFFF this new mining system works as well as the pilot plantw orked then the copper production costs are supposed to be very low. That is one of the reasons, along with high copper prices, that TKO has been on a solid uptrend lately. So there are valid reasons why TKO might deserve a seemingly high valuation. But I agree with you that Lundin is the better/safer copper miner so I have a good position in Lundin and a much smaller, more speculative position in TKO> Just a little extra color on TKO story.

Q: Following up on question on January about the cost basis for TOI on shares I received from the spinout.

I have this problem in my own accounting for TOI or for any stock where I have sold at a value more than I paid for it. (Nice problem to have!). But how to I account for its growth.

Or more specifically, how do you account for its growth? I would like to be able to judge its performance. Questrade always seems to have a non-zero purchase price though it seems a bit arbitrary.
