Q: Copper has shown a remarkable run, over past 6-9 months and Technical analysts like the move, and believe. it has lot more room to go, after almost a 10 year consolidation.
We took an exposure to Copper, through Hudbay Minerals, with an initial 1% position, during the pull back earlier this week.
What are your thoughts on the commodity/miners and what would be a reasonable weighting in a portfolio similar to 5i Balanced ?
Dou you like HBM ? Or, you would prefer to have Copper exposure through COPX, or any Large/Mid Cap Canadian names and why ?
Thank You

5i Research Answer:
Copper is doing well as demand for the commodity increases while supply is a bit tighter on some mine disruptions so we would be fine with some exposure to the metal.
For broad and quick exposure to copper, COPX could make sense but we like HBM and the valuaiton remains reasonable even after the run it has had. Capstone nad ERO could be two other options in the space as well.
