Q: Peter et al:
I have big losses on canfor pulp and western forest products, and have included them in my tax loss selling? Should I buy them back? Interest in these stocks has completely subsided, which makes me think that in a few years when the price is up a lot, we will hear about them every day! Please advise, with a detailed explanation. Also, would you kindly render your opinions on canfor , which Jimmy Pattison wanted so badly, and now no one mentions. Also, opinions on Interfor, and WFG, which you like a lot more, but never get any questions about. A big shortage in housing, and lumber stocks in the dumpster!!!!. They will have their day in the sun. Help me to determine that time frame. Charge me accordingly. Much appreciated.

Q: I intend to use as many losing companies such as above POU, RY, TOU and MG (presently underwater) against a significant amount of capital gains to reduce my taxes for 2023. I will probably buy them back in the new year. What is wrong with this approach? Please explain.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: More insider buying at SIS in early November Do I see this correctly?
Thx

Q: Oil and Gas is approximately 7% of my overall portfolio. Given the recent pullback in Oil and Gas stocks, would you consider this a good time to add to a number of positions? I am looking at adding to CVE, TVE and BTE.
Q: Issued at $25 and now trading at $12.10 for a yield of over 13%. This seems to imply there is a good chance Brookfield may walk away from these securities? Your thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks

-
High Interest Savings Account ETF (HISA)
Q: I intend to invest a significant amount of cash ETFs in my TFSA ,could you suggest a list of safe ETFs with interest,or even short term bond ETFs if pertinent with this objective, aiming at preservation of capital and 4% + to 5% revenue, would it be better to hold just one ETF or a mixture is better in this context, many thanks for your excellent work
Q: I have owned BYD for several years, and although I am not unhappy with it, I wonder if other discretionary stocks might have more growth in the future. I am thinking specifically of CROX and/or DOO. BRD strikes me as the less volatile pick but I am willing to take on more risk if the growth profile is greater. How would 5i rank these stocks for a long-term hold?
Appreciate your insight.

Q: Given a career move, my daughter (30 Years old) recently moved her pension money from HOOPP into a LIRA and RRSP. Given she has 30+ years to retirement, can you suggest a handful of ETFs that provide both sector and international exposure? Currently considering XAW for some of the monies. Thank you.

Q: I am looking for a good large cap USD ETF for my RRSP. I am 68 years old and would like a stable ETF with a lower P/E and OK dividend, hence considering RSP:US rather than the S&P 500 with a high P/E. Overall want an ETF with a good total return over 5 years.
I am considering the above 3 ETFs or perhaps you know of something better.
Thanks!

Q: I'm hoping to take profit from ATD and maybe CSU. My weight in CSU is out of hand but I find it hard to sell that juggernaut. I also have TOI and LMN. I'm happy with my weighting of TOI and i plan to add a small weighting in LMN. I'm underweight in the following: SIS, PBH, SHOP, TD, BEP.UN, ENB, T, SLF, AW.UN. How would you rank these names going forward? Would you recommend swapping any of these for better opportunities that 5i covers or are in the balanced portfolio?

Q: Hello,
I currently hold RBF5737 & RBF5733 in my RRSP as it was the only way to get index exposure in my work contribution plan. I was wondering you would consider selling the two RBF funds and replace them with VFV for a lower fee and achieving a bit of a dividend or is there a reason to leave it as is?
Thank you.

Q: 4 disasters in my cash account these year. Each position down between 30-45%.
How would you proceed?
Can you please give a brief comment on each security with a recommendation to either sell or hold. If selling is advised to crystallize a loss, what would be a proxy? And lastly, would you buy any of them back after the 30 day window?
Please feel free to deduct credits as you deem fit.
Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Long time holder of NWH.UN as a small part of my REIT basket. Been thinking i woukd just hang on (in my RRSP so no tax loss benefit ) but reading more on AP.UN that I used to own and wondering if that would be a better albeit still risky option than NWH.UN going forward
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Good morning, do you have any suggestions for ETF's that would be invested in the Mexican economy? With near and re-shoring for north american companies bringing their supply chains closer do you think Mexico is in for some growth over the next 10-25 years? Canadian or USA efts preferred.
Thanks
Thanks

Q: Hello Peter,
If i wanted to buy an ETF in India, which one would i be better off with? or am I better to put equal amounts.. Also, I was hoping topicus would replicate csu performance over long term ( i know it has not been in existence for very long but i am under water on topicus). Should i just forget TOI, and LMN, and stick to csu. Much appreciated.

Q: Would you be able to tell me the trailing P/E and estimated forward P/E for BN and BRK.B? I assume this may be difficult for BRK.B, when they often seek permission to not disclose all of their current holdings. Where can I find the most accurate P/E info for Canadian and US stocks?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: I'm considering selling DOO for HD. Would you consider this a good move? I'm not happy about the big drop with DOO and trying not to make an emotional decision.
A DOO bounce back looks 1-2 years away and wondering if the gains would be greater with HD. This would be for 5-10 year hold. Thanks
