Q: When you last commented on Neo Performance Materials back in late July, you noted that "revenues have been declining since 2018 which is a trend we do not like to see."

The Q2 results reported Aug. 10th show the revenue decline continuing. Despite that, the price has risen more than 25% from late July. Is this purely sector driven, or are other factors at play?

Marc.

Q: Hello Peter,
Is the symbol for GR silver mining GRSL as opposed to what you have on your database? Also, what do you think about the company? I was expecting Lightspeed to surge with listing in US but it has not gained any momentum.. Any thoughts. Lastly, is the opportunity cost too high to hold onto Knight. I still own about 3 percent of my portfolio in Knight (reduced from 5 percent). Do you think it is worth reducing for now? From the holdings i have, Knight has performed very poorly. Thanks very much.

Q: Hi,
I'd like to know how you would view debentures on SHOP, how the balance sheet is holding up and where the estimates for revenues going forward are. I am concerned about today's drop and whether or not it is worth holding, or ditching prior to the announcement regarding price for the secondary issue and debentures. Is there anything about SHOP I am missing here? I'm kind of curious as to why it has experienced a 22% decline in the last 3 to 4 weeks, when the tech sector in Canada is down just over 11% in comparison - does this indicate SHOP is falling out of favour compared to its peers? I noticed that in the US, ETSY has had a similar drop, but AMZN, EBAY are less. I had been under the impression that with SHOP's recent work with WMT and many small businesses moving online recently any pullbacks would be less, but maybe SHOP is just that volatile? As always I appreciate any thoughts or comments you have.

Q: Hi,
Pardon my ignorance ,but I would think that what Jay Powell said today (16 Sept) would actually be bullish for stocks and gold.
My reason is that low interest rates for a long period of time will induce people to take risk and invest in stocks in order to conserve their purchasing power. They will also borrow more money for purchases etc. In addition, as interest rates remain low , the money supply is being inflated which should actually cause the dollar to fall and hence, commodities like gold that are quoted in US dollars to actually rise.
However , after his speech and even after market close, the markets, including the futures are pointing down and so is gold. To my surprise, the US dollar is up.
My last point is, if the entire worlds central banks are inflating their money supply, should this not have the added advantage of markets benefiting and that will include gold too.
Is my concept of economics skewed?

Thanks,

Q: It appears this is the first question on Wrap Technologies ($8.35, market cap $305 million).. Quick blurb about them:

Wrap Technologies, Inc., a security technology company, develops security products for law enforcement and security personnel. It develops BolaWrap 100, a hand-held remote restraint device that discharges an eight-foot bola style Kevlar tether to entangle a subject at a range of 10-25 feet. The company was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona.

They are starting to get orders for BolaWrap from police departments. Their website claims "Policing Just Got Safer".

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Greg

Q: In the event that Corporations, REIT's or other company structures are taken private what options would they have relative to Pref Shares. Convertible Debentures etc. would they have to redeem them or could they still continue to be listed under their original terms? If the latter does that encumber the private Company in any material way?
thanks, Hugh
