Q: Do you think there is a possibility Canadian Natural Resources and Tourmaline will increase their dividends sometime in the next 12 months given the amount of free cash flow each seems to be generating at current commodity prices? Or continue aggressively paying down debt? I am also particularly interested in your comments on Tourmaline's earnings release yesterday and what you see for CNQ earnings release.
Q: I am considering GSY as a growth holding to augment my dividend growth heavy portfolio. I keep hearing that valuation matters. Is GSY today at a good entry price for a 3% slot in my portfolio?
Q: Could I please get your assessment of this company? It reported today and it's stock plunged almost 11% before recovering some. Clearly there were some issues with the report, though it beat expectations.
Q: I am seeking your thoughts on Victory Square Technologies. The current PE is 1.88. The market price of $0.46 is less than double its earnings of $0.245. Is this a screaming buy or am I missing something?
KL continues to do everything right, no debt, close to 1 billion in cash, buying back shares, its cheap, excellent management...but the stock is down 37% the last year and has been on a downward trend all year. Is it heavily shorted or something else is wrong ?
Thanks, George
Q: On Yahoo finance today at 11:32 adt, it show a volume spike of 52.9K. On the TSX site under "Trading History" for the same time, there is no indication of that many shares being traded, not even close. On my Questrade "Time and Sales" it's not there either. I thought volume on bar charts where actual traded shares, if this is not the case, is what I'm seeing on Yahoo the level of Ask and Buys, but not actual trades? Thanks,
Q: Hi Peter,
CIBC launches depository receipts for shares in US companies. The first to launch was amazon.com CDR NEO: AMZN-NE on the NEO exchange.
The shares are hedged to the Cdn dollar.
For Amazon with a cost per share of $3,622 US the cost per share on the NEO is 22.86 Cdn.
CIBC will be launching more of CDRs for more US companies in the next days. What is your take on this method of buying into US companies without spending a lot of US dollars?
Thanks
Ron
ABX has paid off all its Debt, cash is building up, excellent CEO, its cheap, but the stock is down 36% the last year. What is your view of ABX today ?
Q: Me, want to share this zinger that made me chuckle like hahaaaa.....BNN attributes it to Lorne Steinberg that I understand is a "value portfolio manager"
here is Lorne's "elbow" at investment analysts - If investment analysts were meteorologists, rain would never be in the forecast.
Q: I currently own PIMCO Income Opportunity Fund. PIMCO is planning to reorganize and merge some of the funds. PDI would aquire PCI and PKO. The new management fee will be 0.11%.
I have been happy with the income from PKO. Should I continue to hold the new fund or seek an alternative.
Q: With the growing interest in ESG companies do you think AQN is a potential acquisition target? Wondering if it small enough to get the takeover-kind of attention.
Q: For a 3% position and a 2-3 year hold which would you pick regardless of risk in regards to share appreciation/growth which one of these companies would u pick and why? Thanks for all your work
Q: GUD seems awfully cheap at $5.05. Would you have any issues averaging down at this price? I see there was some insider buying fairly recently in the 5.25-5.30 range.
