Q: I own Costco..It has decreased by 11% since I purchased it. I was considering selling it and moving the money to Home Depot. Which of these two stocks do you feel has a better outlook going forward.

Q: Can you give me your thoughts on this co. I own a very small position and am wondering if it is worth adding a little. I know they have had there problems over the last year but I have also heard that they have made some personal changes and may be looking better going forward.

Q: As a retiree who has some cash to invest what would be a good/somewhat safe place to invest in during this volatile market? GIC’s don’t pay enough and preferred shares have been hit hard the last year. I am thinking I don’t want to increase my presence in energy and I own a lot of pipelines which are all suffering due to the oil situation but still paying a nice dividend.

Q: Hello Peter,
Any idea why Jean Coutu has been surging of late? Fundamentally it is good and technically, it has a break out. I do not see any positive news to reflect it or is the market realizing the potential (perhaps Metro buying it etc). I have 2% weight in Stella Jones and am thinking of increasing it to 5% as it has had a good pull back. Since CNR has good earnings, could this help Stella Jones as the pullback (from what I understood) reflected the business towards railways, etc Thank you

Q: Many doctors are enthusiastic about GILD's hepatitis-C treatment which, while very, very expensive, is medically unusual for the high proportion of patients it actually cures (versus, many drug therapies are only incremental improvements on the therapies they supercede.) However - and aside from understandable friction over cost - is GILD potentially the victim of its drug's success: the more people they cure, the fewer customers they have remaining? And unlike, say, Apple (who is running out of new customers but can sell old customers an upgrade), cured patients have no reason to come back for more.

Q: Hi Peter and team,
In December, I sold my positions in Black Diamond and Questor for tax loss selling. I can now buy these back, but I am wondering if it would be wiser to use the money to buy different stocks that have been beaten up as much but have a better outlook in the next year. If so do you have any recommendations as to what stocks these may be? Is it wiser to just buy back in BDI and QST and wait for oil to bounce back?

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan & Team, If you were to pick 5 Stocks in the mid to large cap companies in the Industrial sector for a 5 year hold, which ones would you choose. Presently I have WSP, BAD & TNC for a 12.39% of my portfolio.

Q: There are few renewable companies but lots of money to invest in them. Will they become artificially inflated?
Is is better to go direct to GE, Easton, Emerson Electric etc.
10 years ago Coal companies were doing well but bankrupt now.
In 20 years will we need all of these pipelines?
I believe there will be millions of oil sands barrels left in the ground in Alberta.

Q: I own SPB @ 7% of the portfolio. I plan on buying ZUT for utility holdings, but notice that SPB represents 8% of the ZUT portfolio. In looking at the other holdings in ZUT, SPB seems out of place. Would you hold both or divest SPB? Thanks
