Q: You had recommended MUSA as a Best Stock Idea. It has dipped below $365 today. Do you still recommend this a good discretionary/cyclical name? Do you prefer others in the US? Also what would be a good entry point? Thanks

Q: Given AutoNation’s current valuation, competitive position, and industry outlook, do you think the company is well positioned to deliver strong shareholder returns over the next five years?
AutoNation has been aggressively buying back its own shares — do you think this capital allocation strategy will continue to create value for shareholders over the next five years?

Q: I have a partial position in both VRT and NBIS. I am wondering which I should add to first for long term capital gains? Or should I just own one? I feel I have too much diversification with over 35 positions and would be happy with just one of these.
Thanks

Q: Dear Peter et al:

Both NBIS and SMCI report earnings in early November. (7th&10th)

What are your predictions?
I own positions in both, more so in NBIS than in SMCI. BUT not full positions.
I am particularly worried about SMCI as they are notoriously known to report spurious numbers and get "whacked"! But the price seems to hold steady. If anything it seems to be going up slightly.

NBIS has been drifting lower. Is it because Smart money is expecting bad news? Or people locking in their profits?
Tempted to write cash secured puts for NBIS. An easy way to add IMHO. What Strike Price would you suggest for Nov 7th expiry?
(I know I will get assigned if the earnings report goes ugly!)

Many thanks for your words of wisdom.

Q: Looks like there is going to have to be a large build out in electric transmission lines in the US. What companies stand to benefit the most?
Thanks again

Q: Hi 5i
Looking to pick up some cheap shoes and noticed you recently included DECK as a company with good rebound potential. How would you rate these 3 for long term gains?
Thanks, Greg

Q: What is your view of NVTS. They describe their technology as revolutionary; are they sufficiently ahead of competition?. Is there much competition?

MNDY is down. Holding a sizeable position and need to reduce it. Would you sell now? Or hold until the price has recovered and then start to reduce position?

Q: Hi! Insurance brokers have taken a hit recently. Its seems the insurance cycle is against them for the foreseeable future. Companies like PGR have also taken a hit and seems' to be out of favor in the market, although the results did not seem alarming.

They, as well as the brokers I have listed, have a reputation to be be well managed and efficient and have had great returns historically. They do not reach these valuation levels often.

What are your views on the sector going forward and which companies would you recommend, if any?

Thank you!

Q: I am loosing a lot of money on both PFE and MRK. I hold them in RRSP since 2023 and down about 50% on PFE and 20% on MRK. Would you keep these or get rid of them and switch to some other healthcare stocks offering better long term total return (growth + dividends)?
