Q: Good Afternoon
ARX is almost touching the lows not seen since the great recession and financial crisis of 2008/09. It is my understanding that the environment for energy companies is not favourable but no other energy company has performed as bad as ARX. Are there any other reasons unknown to us?
I will appreciate your comments with respect to ARX going forward. The dividend has been cut only once since the 2008 recession. Do you see any possibility for a dividend cut?
At this level is the stock a hold/sell or buy?
Thank you
Q: Good Day Looking at dipping my toe back into the energy sector. Please rate ARX and WCP. How strong are their balance sheets? Does 5i have a better play on energy. Or is it just to early for the energy sector?
Q: your opinion on Arc Resources (ARX). bought it at $20.xx a year ago and it is down significantly. should i wait out a bit or is it time to sell? i have a long way to retirement.
Q: Hello 5i, I am considering on taking a position in either Peyto or Arc. Could you comment on a comparison of the 2 as to what their payout ratio is and how safe the distribution is also your opinion on these 2 companies. Would you have a better recommendation on an energy company and if so which one. Also on your old website on the right side there was a selection by year and month of questions answered I see that it is now gone or how do I find this info.
Thanks
Q: Gentlemen
If commodity prices continue at current levels for the foreseeable future, what would be your current ranking, please, of these energy names.... in order of best to worst, to hold for future growth?
I hold for both income and growth.
Q: Have ARC in both RRSP & TFSA for a while, one is down about 20% while the other is down about 8%, considering swapping them out but want to keep the sector exposure, do you think it is worthwhile holding on or if there are better name(s) to switch to considering more income focused.
Q: I hold several hundred shares of ARX in my non-registered account and am wondering about trading them out for BIR? My only real reason for considering this swap is to realize the tax-loss on the ARX shares since I am down roughly 45% since purchase. I understand them both to be gas oriented producers. Do you consider one company to be superior to the other in terms of management, leverage to a rebound, dividend sustainability, and long term prospects? Is this a switch that you would recommend at this time?
Q: Have held these 2 stocks for several years at a very substantial loss, dividends are good, however share price continues to PLUMMIT. Is it time to take the loss and move on or hold and PRAY? They are in my cash account. Thank You
Jack
Q: In the event that the price of oil falls dramatically this year, how would you rank the following six companies with respect to their ability to withstand a prolonged and precipitous decline: VII, ARX, BIR, TOG, VET, CPG ? Would any of them be cause for concern, or would you keep holding? Also, what are the main factors you take into consideration when making this kind of determination (balance sheet, market cap, oil vs gas exposure, etc)? Thanks for your reply.
Q: I Have held arc energy for years while collecting their dividend that has been reduced. There is buy ratings on the stock and insider buying.Would you recommend averaging down at this time.
Tks in advance
Al
I have been patiently awaiting the recovery of the O&G sector. I am under water on the list of 9 stocks listed. I have been patient and have harvested dividends and DRIPed in the meantime (bank brokerage DRIPing). But with the current US admin and shift to renewable energy sources, I am concerned that the recovery may be a long time (decades ?) away. My question is ... if I chose to sell a few of the above stocks, which do you think might be the poorist performers given the current energy environment and therefore could have the longest time to recover).
Q: I have taken a full position in arc resource at average price of 20.27 dollars. After there last quarter statement should I hold and expect a 20 percent return in the next year?
Thanks for your input
Q: Hello, I am looking to buy an energy stock and was considering one the these two. I would appreciate if you can provide pros and cons of both and which one you believe will perform better and why.
Are there any other energy names you would recommend which have good BS and valuations.
