Q: In your answer to Joe this morning about analyst ratings, you are less than positive on the process. This does not surprise me, but it raises the question about analyst predictions for a company's quarterly reports. The market seems to place great stock in the consensus estimates (and this seems to be getting worse in the last couple years), instantly slamming a company that misses on EPS or whatever metric. Are the analysts that make up "the consensus" the same analysts you were talking about? Why does the market think they should correct, particularly when (I assume) they don't have all the information available to the Board members; and, as you mention there are usually some ulterior motives? Just curious.

Thank-you

Q: Hi 5i,

With regards to Applied Materials (Amat) the 2 most recent questions on your website are from June and August of this year. I am wondering what your current thoughts are regarding this company with items such as Free Cash Flow, Earnings Growth, Debt, Cash Position, Management, P/E, it is overbought at this time etc.

In this sector, would you prefer another company such as Nvidia or any other companies that I should be looking into?

Thanks. Love your service!

Q: RE: Peter Lynchs' general positivity about spin offs.
Opinion about the new spin off Viemed from PHM. Do you know if any of the old management from PHM will be involved with the new company or will it be fresh people from outside rather then some reshuffling of the old mismanaging guard?
Do know how the arrangement will work wrt shares. I don't own any PHM at the moment. Would there be any benefit of purchasing any before the split?
Thanks

Q: The correction in this stock (RE: Toys R Us bankruptcy) is quite startling. The last conference call was optimistically projecting a recovery. This is a large, experienced manufacturer of many popular brands which lost 50% of its value in 4 months. Is this punishment justified and is it a good investment right now?

Q: What are your thoughts on NVMI, Nova Measuring Instruments and NANO, Nanometrics Limited? Both are in the metrology side of the semiconductor industry. and their valuations seem reasonable. Would you prefer one or the other? Or is there another company in this space that you like? Thanks-in-advance.

Q: Greetings. CBL, MKP, FC all pay a great dividend, but have lost Cap value over the past year or so. Forward trending does not indicate much value appreciation. Should I be concerned with this sector of altrenative lenders to the major banks. Sell or hold ? Other options to consider. ie some growth expectation and a reasonable div or say +4%
Thanks

Q: My question is on the private placement news issued today. I'm curious why anyone would buy shares in the private placement issued at $7.50 when they can just buy shares on the open market currently under $7.00. Am I missing something or is it a way for a shareholder to purchase a large amount of stock without driving up the price to much?
