Q: Before the split, an old PHM share was worth ~31 cents and post split (1 new PHM @ 21 cents and 1/10 VMD @ 30 cents - 1 share currently $3.00) that share is now worth ~51 cents. Is my math correct in that the shares basically increased by 20 cents or 64.5% post split? if yes, can you explain why such a big increase. Thanks

Q: Hi there, I noticed Open Text has lagged the index this year and is relatively flat. Do you think that 2018 will be a better year for the stock, as it is being introduced into the TSX60? Thanks!
Wondering if you might have any input on the new issue- "NEO". I like the space they operate in, and they did have a successful past if I remember correctly; that said it has not traded well since the IPO.
Q: Thanks for the update on why weed is going up today based on the announcement in California. Why is this affecting Canadian stocks? Also, are there names in US that one can speculate on that are like weed and APH in Canada? Gas stocks in Canada seem to be tied to oil price. Lately, oil is going up but BIR and TOU hardly move. I am almost to the point of throwing in the towel for Canadian names given the political climate in Canada with regards to energy and pipelines. Any comments? Thanks again.
Q: Hi everyone.
I have several questions so please take as many credits as needed.
1. Can you recommend an ETF for Japan? Several experts have recommended diversifying out of NA and into Japan.
2. Do you foresee a relative shortage in copper supply in the near future? If so, can you recommend a natural resource company that would benefit from the increased copper demand.
3. Do you know of an American equivalent to BNN?
Q: My "loss leaders" are CPG and ERF. My gainers are SU, HSE and CNQ. (Because of the entry prices) Should I sell my "losers" CPG/ERF and plough the proceeds in SU/CNQ? Or simply hold them till the recovery in the sector takes place? Or buy HWO which I own which is in slightly positive territory? Or any other company that you would suggest in the Oil/Gas sector? Like the pipelines.
Thank you.
New listing in the US Nasdaq: MJX. Initial impression? How do you see it comparing vs HMMJ.
Also, as we see the cannabis industry industry in startup mode globally, could it make sense to simply follow the legalization process and investing country to country picking the emerging favorites? Expectations would be that the pattern we have seen in Canada plays out similarly everywhere.
Q: Listed above are the stocks i currently have in my TFSA Would you suggest selling any of those listed and what would you suggest adding for 2018? All are approximately equal weight in my portfolio?
Thks for all that you do
Q: I have been watching COV.I am reluctant to buy as trading is very light with only 60 shares traded this morning. With a market cap <$100 million, would you recommend a full positon? Is insider ownership high? Your views are appreciated.
Happy New Year.
