I am doing some rebalancing of my portfolio. In light of my views on world events over the next 3-5 years I am looking for the top 3 "Consumer Defensive" stocks. I believe there to be risk in the US dollar over this period so would appreciate your recommendations on 3 Canadian and 3 American consumer defensive stocks and what makes them a consideration.
Q: Given US and Canadian currencies and markets, what is your recommendation for the purchase of US stocks (ie GOOG) and ETFs (ie QQQ). Would you recommend buying them in Canadian or US currency for a 32 year old who will hold them for an RRSP investment?
Q: Please rank from best to worst at current purchase prices (for growth). Please also indicate if they would be a buy, sell or hold based on Thursday's prices.
Q: This company seems to be financially stable and I am wondering what your thoughts are regarding a speculative purchase. I note that Sime Armoyan has a big chunk of this also.
Q: Good morning I would appreciate your opinion on QSR latest results. I just finished reading through and although growth seems slow it was heading in the right direction. I am wondering your opinion on the different segments (brands) and their push into international markets and BK revamp. Do you think this could be the start of expansion and the bet that Doyle can turn this business around like Dominos? I have been a long time holder and recently been wondering if i should sell and move on or stay the course. Thanks
Q: Hi There,
If I'm looking long term, and want to keep things really simple, what would you suggest as the best international ETF(s) to pair with an S&P 500 ETF such as TPU.TO? And do you see a drawback to leaning into the S&P 500 as it reaches new highs?
Thank you
Q: Can you comment on what is going on with the CVE takeover offer, and why there was a last-minute delay that took place yesterday? Was it delayed because there was not enough support? Although I had voted in support of CVE takeover when SCR was also bidding, now that SCR is out, if the vote is close, I would probably vote against CVE so MEG could continue on its own. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Q: I am curious as to how best invest in the power demand for AI datacentres? Would you have suggestions for certain equities/ETF’s that you feel are well positioned this impending demand?
Q: I am thinking of adding either LMN or VPN to my TFSA. Appreciate knowing which stock has the best growth potential and the risk associated with each.
Q: Hi Peter
I owned all 3 pipelines ENB, PPL, and TRP for dividends and slow capital appreciation;
all 3 have been declining in the last few weeks
are there any fundamental reasons ? I know that the prices of oil is weak and there are obstacles to try to build a pipeline from Alberta to BC , some talks for pipeline to the USA, I am looking for opportunity to add to my existing position, should I wait longer? is there a seasonal trade timing? Thanks
Michael
