Q: Can you rank the stocks best to worst in your opinion. These are the stock s that are in my technology sector (17% weighting). Would you add, swap or remove any of them? My portfolio holdings/thoughts are very similar to your BE Portfolio. Thank you and great job.

Q: Over the last few years, I've become familiar with the likes of David Stockman, Marc Faber, Jim Rickards, Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers, and other well-known perma-bears. They spend a lot of time warning about sky high stock valuations, extreme asset inflation generally, the banning of cash, the importance of precious metals, impending market crashes, runs on banks, the freezing of stock exchanges, and other light fare. I try to balance their dire outlook with more sanguine perspectives, but I'm always wondering if some of the extreme scenarios they envision will ever materialize.

For instance, Marc Faber appeared on BNN a few days ago, warning that the share prices of some of the most successful companies are headed to zero in the coming years. He didn't specify which ones.

Are you familiar with any of these pundits, and should any of their warnings be taken seriously? Thanks for your thoughts. I'm due back at the bunker now...

Q: Hi 5i Team,
I recently learned that Canada has enacted a "bail-in" regulation so that systemically important financial institutions can recapitalize by converting some of their liabilities (deposits) into capital should another financial shock occur. Is this fact? How does this regulation work and How does one avoid forced conversion of savings?

Thanks for you great service.
Regards,
Danny

Q: Hi All!

Just a quick comment for whats its worth

5i Research Answer:
A couple of notes, first.
Badger has a much longer public history than PSN. We have heard the 'no competitive advantage' argument against BAD ever since it went public.

I often had to deal with hydrovacs trucks. One day I was driving around a clean Harbors super - who had worked as a BAD foreman for a few years before. We were looking at a couple of his C.H. hydrovacs doing a job. He pointed out to me that for the same job, the BAD trucks would have been in and out of there in 4 hours while the Clean Harbors trucks which were there sucking for over 8 hours were not done yet.

Feel free if you want to use
Have a good week! Dom

Q: I am designing my portfolio more and more towards steady and reliable blue chip names. I would like to have your opinonion on what blue chip stocks ands or etf's would be good to hold in a TFSA. I have quite a good profit in New Flyer and Savaria in my TFSA, and although tempted to keep them thought i might trim them and begin filling the tfsa with the afore mentionned type of stocks.
thanks

Q: Almost every investing article we read state "investors" doing whatever... Whenever I read that, I think of us little guys poring over our computers at the kitchen table. But I know better than that. I know "investors" are dominated by the big funds, insurance companies, pension funds, etc. But I'm curious. What percentage of investors are the retail investors?

Q: Good Morning,

I asked a question a few days ago on sector allocation. Not sure why it was private. I may have checked the wrong box. Its ok to make the question public to help others here.

Anyway I did as you said and trimmed back REIT's and Financials. I purchased some tech. Added to my SVC and started a position in ET. Today I started a position in BCE. I chose BCE over T.

However I am having trouble choosing between AEM, SJ and MX for my materials purchase. Any insight would be great.

Thanks
Jimmy
