Q: Do you consider that Canadian utilities ETFs (my impression..) ,or even other ETF categories, offer a protection against future potential US taxes on foreign countries ,and in such case, which ETF would you favor ,(or a mix) ?
Q: The listed companies have used their tech to expand beyond their original business channels to a point that they are woven into the fabric of society. At some point early on they were good businesses with high potential that have risen to levels I could not have contemplated. Looking beyond AI, can you think of three companies out there in any sector that are working on things that have the potential to become central to our way of life in the way that these giants have? These can be well known companies that you think are on the cusp of big things or smaller companies with ideas that are a long shot.
Q: Good day team,
I know you’ve been asked a lot about small and mid cap etfs but can you kindly recommend a few etfs both hedged and unhedged for a non registered account pls. No need to funds for at least 10 years.
Q: Hello, I am wanting to increase my TFSA Industrial sector from 12% to 15%. I presently hold ATRL CP MDA and DRX. Which would be better addition RTX or ATS? Another thought is add RTX and replace DRX (down 30%) with ATS. I do hold for longer term. Thanks for any comments.
Q: I have most of our Reits in our TFSA accounts, which I understand really should be for more growth stocks. If I take a position with CHP.UN and put it in our margin account, do you know how much would be Dividend and how much is other income that is taxed differently? Does it make that much difference?
Reits have been out of favour recently and coming to year lows. Do you see this as a buying opportunity, or are you cautionary? Do you see more potential downside?
Thanks so much!
Q: Hi, for smaller cap companies, what would be your max position sizing for someone that is a medium/high growth oriented investor. What are some criteria's you look at when sizing a position depending on if it is small, mid, or large cap? Beta/volatility, cyclicality? I'm guiding towards 5-8% for larger cap names such as CSU, BN, BKNG, GOOG, etc... and 2-3% for smaller names such as LMN, TVK, PRL, WELL, VHI, ATZ, etc.. I know for more volatile names, a smaller position can have just as large an impact in a portfolio. Thanks!
Q: I have two daughters resident in the USA and would like to put them into something similar to VEQT and VGRO. Are there any Fidelity USA or Vanguard USA products you can suggest that have a similarly diversified mix
Q: Not a question but a comment on Lumine. I would think the recent woes of LMN have something to do with the CEO David Nyland taking a leave of absence.
Q: looking for safety of dividend and single digit capital appreciation. would you sell BCE and replace with 50 percent to TIH and 50 percent to either CAR.UN or GRT.UN. thanks Richard
Q: I am getting frustrated with AMT. It has a medium dividend, but seems to keep slipping away. It looked like it was improving last fall but then fell again. What are your thoughts? Is it time to take my small loss and move on?
Q: Another newbie question here. I have RRSP accounts in both $US and $ CAN. When calculating the percentage a position represents, should I use the total worth of both RRSP accounts combined or separately? I really appreciate any help you can provide. Cheers.
