Q: Hello 5i
Could I have your assessment of GigaCloud Technologies please? I don’t see any previous questions on this company nor a ticker symbol.
Thank you
Dave
Q: Good Morning:
Thanks as always for your help. In my recent question concerning Payfair I asked if you could direct me to a recent question from a member asking about the dollar tiers of small, medium, and large companies, both in the US and Canada
Thanks, Ben.
Q: Hi. After reading your ETF newsletter, I was considering this ETF as a good way to buy into many of the larger companies that are higher performers on the US market. I already have a full market ETF. What is your opinion?
Q: I have held MRE in my TFSA for the past couple of years and have done "okay".
However, I'm looking at moving into something with more total return potential and am considering either BTO or DPM, as I feel both could do well in a strengthening gold market (which I can foresee over the next year or so).
Which would you lean towards and why?
Thanks, Rick
Q: In a recent answer comparing the 2 ETFs, VFV & HXS, you said HXS does not pay any distribution. Does that mean it is like DRIP, instead of a dividend payment, your share holdings increase every quarter. Thanks … Cal
Q: Looking for some guidance re considerations to consider in trading TCN at this point. What would your view be on the expected share price movement over the next 3 months. What factors might there be at play to improve the current stock price versus to lower it or finally the likelihood of it stagnating here. So do see it as a sell because current price likely as good as it gets, a hold because upside likely, or, if not too large a portfolio holding, a trim perhaps. Thank you for your views.
I believe that Capital Losses can carried forward for 3 years, and after that they no long can be used. If that is true, I have a Capital Loss that expires in 2024 and would like to utilize it before I loose it.
I was thinking to selling some winners to get the Capital Gains to go against the Capital Losses and then buying them back. Is there a 30 day limit for Capital Gains as there is for Capital Losses (Tax Selling), and is this this a good strategy?
Q: Can you provide me with your analysis of Journey Energy please? Price has gone down more than other O&G plays. WIll continue to hold this if the fundamentals are good. Can they do well with WTI at this price?
Thank you.
Q: Just a follow-up question on the takeover bid for TCN... I don't see any timing for when shareholders of TCN will receive their cash. Do you see any timing details?
Q: Could you comment on the propose take-over by BREIT. The offer looks cheap to me compare with today real book value. If it goes thru, will the new legislation law by the Democrats affect BREIT? Are you expecting outbid?
Q: I plan to add to my gold stock holdings as I have recently sold some bullion. I have concerns about unsafe jurisdictions such as Panama even though I would consider Franco-Navada because of its recent haircut.
May I have a couple of stocks in each of the small, mid and large cap size that are more politically secure and are quality companies?
With appreciation,
Ed
Q: Everyone, I have been a member of 5i for many years and read many questions on ‘what is a good price to buy a stock’. Buy around the moving averages, 20, 50 or 200 day. Or buy in a price range ? Or buy before or after the quarterly report? Or… The stocks I buy are a forever holding, buy the best of the best. If the price is in a high RSI range or above the moving average range, I will split my buying in three or four pieces and over a three of four months. I don’t care if I miss the best buy price because in 10 years the price doesn’t matter! To me, buying the best of the best stock is more important than the price because I want to be a part owner in a company. FYI my average price of AAPL is less than $20, my average price of SHOP CDN is less than $4. My thoughts Clayton
