Q: My daughter turns 10 this year. I have been regularly contributing $2500/yr to her RESP to get the Fed $500 contribution. I have had mixed returns so far in her portfolio. If you were to pick one stock going forward what would you suggest? Thx for your advice and all the best in 2018

Q: If rates including mortgages rise in 2018 which specific stocks would be the anticipated winners?
What would an extra 2% added to mortgage rates do to the Canadian economy? Also is there a correlation to high rates with certain commodities?
Thanks

Q: Happy and prosperous New Year 5i team,
I am just considering adding to my tfsa. I bought a chunk of Toy when it fell and thus have a bit of a profit already. And I was thinking of adding to it in 2018. But, I noticed that you added Dol to your buys this year and I have learned to pay close attention when you make a move. So, the question is, given that I am already well diversified, should I add to Toy or is there something about Dol which you have an extra strongfeeling about, since you added it to your portfolio?
thanks

Q: I'm worried that there will be a severe market crash in 2018, and therefore I think I should hold a high proportion of cash (35%, perhaps as much as 50%) in my investments. Do you agree that this is a reasonable thing to worry about in today's environment? Can you recommend a good, safe place to keep lots of cash, where it will earn at least a little something?

Q: I am very heavy on Canadian equities within my corporate investment account. My personal accounts are all a bit heavy on Canadian equities as well. Plan to purchase ETFs to balance. Which of your current ETF portfolio names would you add right now and is there any advantage to doing so within my INC., TFSA, RSP or personal unregistered account. Would invest a 5% positon in the next few weeks. Balanced equity portfolio is the target, 10 year horizon.
