Q: I have recently started a corporate investing account and plan to invest in it monthly for the next 15-18 years prior to retirement. I am thinking of focusing on 8 to 10 CAD/US dividend growth companies that I can buy on weakness and hold forever. I would appreciate your thoughts on which companies would make a good selection.

Q: How would you interpret the possible buy of IDTI by Renesas? Would you advise continuing to hold IDTI to see what happens or sell in case no deal is made? How likely that another company puts in a higher bid?

I read your article in the Financial Post. I had been following NTAP & SQ but other 3 others were just as good. Thank you.
I suggest you please include US stocks you find interesting in 5i. It is hard to make money in the Canadian market. I understand you have non-conflict pledge for the Canadian market and therefore you do not invest here but invest in the US. I and others would have no problem if you include US stocks with a declaration that you have invested in it. Come to think about it, you may do the same for the Canadian market.

Q: I'm considering reentering Caledonia and I'm trying to figure out what is behind the recent drop. The Zimbabwe "election" seems to be resolved without too much turmoil. Gold has been weak, but with an AISC of $856 the company still has good earnings to support the dividend. Reduced taxes offset the somewhat weaker production results from the last quarter and future production increases are forecast. Finally the proposed acquisition of a further 15% interest in the mine appears to be on good terms for the company. The drop to me seems overdone and I'm thinking that a move back to the $10-11 range would be reasonable. I'm interested in your thoughts.

Q: I feel we all may be missing something. Altagas contines a downward spiral with a dividend reaching what one would think indicates a troubled company.
OR this could be the buy of the year.

Q: Just a comment. I know we don’t predict bottoms but I see this disaster, which I currently don’t own, easily shedding another 20-30% before year end. It may be interesting then.

Q: I know that 5i does not cover US companies, however I read Peter's recent article in the FP on US tech companies and the need to have some tech exposure. That being said, for long term growth do you recommend buying into these companies at today's valuations or has that train left the station?
