Q: AEM just bought on 23rd and no sooner bought than it started to drop off. I researched a bit further and seen a couple of days ago, there was a target cut by Bay Street HTTP. Not concerned but should have researched before I bought. Over the last few days I added to STC and ROQU and took a new position in CRNC. They do not seem to be participating in this 5 day rally. Any recent negative news on any of these securities? Awaiting your good advice. Thanks,

Q: Thanks for your great services. Earlier during Covid, I put in an order for well at $4.20, but only 10% of the order was filled. I've watched my tiny position do well over the last 6 months - wishing I had a larger position, LOL. I guess it's anyone's guess how low the stock could go - perhaps you can comment on that. Can you recommend an entry price for a bargain hunter?

Q: Hi 5i,

Just looking for your opinion on the dentures of SOT.un. This would be part of my higher risk bond portfolio. It’s a 5.25% debenture (SOT.DB) due 28/02/23 currently trading around par.

The balance sheet seems strong enough to handle the repayment in 2023. I don’t think the conversion price of $10.53 will enter into the conversation.

Any concerns and your opinion would be most helpful.

Q: Gentlemen, is REAL a value play or value trap?

My understanding is that the pandemic reduced the requirement for in person real estate appraisals, hurting REAL despite the uptick in real estate activity. Going forward I can see things reverting back to normal for appraisals. Any interest rate increases will certainly hurt mortgage renewals. Analysts however seem to think the growth story is largely intact.

Q: In March 2020 I did a lot of tax-loss selling (and proxy re-buying - thank you, I wish I had known to do that in 2008). I sold two Canadian banks and bought two others, BMO and CM. I did not sell them after I got my money back but let them recover. Consequently I have BMO up almost double and CM up 70%. Is there any reason to sell them to re-buy the original banks which will trigger a capital gain? I have no capital losses in that account.

Q: Hi team,
I cannot find info regarding the expire date and what the exercise price for the purchase of a Nevada copper common share would be. I am aware that warrants can have much leverage to a share price if proper conditions are right. Would this be a reasonable opportunity or am I better to purchase the common share?

Q: Capstone has had a wonderful quarter or two. I've never owned a mining stock before, and frankly, I have no idea what to expect as a top out price. I could sell now and do well, but I would hate to do so and be watching the stock continue to climb. Not to be greedy, just looking for a little stock parameter guidance, please.

Q: I have held Alaris pre conversion for some time now in a taxable account . Since the conversion to a UN , now tax wise I am wondering whether it makes sense to even hold it in a taxable account. I am considering selling for those reasons.
Could I ask for your opinions in regards to AD.UN specific composition for Canadian income tax purposes?

Q: In non-registered account we had huge gains in solid dividend payers (ENB, SLF,CNR,FTS) and last year against tax-loss selling was able to reduce weight in portfolio to approximately 4% each. Donated some shares to charities and also gifted some to son (still had to pay capital gains but didn't hurt as much because benefit is still in the family). New money has been going to growth securities and thanks to your advise in time we may have huge capital gains again. Are there other strategies for dealing with this happy problem?

Q: Thank you for . I do not normally place much importance on insider selling. However, I see that insiders have been selling a lot of CRM, including sales by Mr. Benihoff . The stream of insider sales reports seems never-ending. Granted, the above is not uncommon and could be due to grant/redemption of options. But the sales seem to have been non-stop lately. Is this something on which one should place any weight to when thinking about one's own thoughts of trimming CRM?
