Q: Good Morning, I am under weight in base material and Consumer defensive. My list of current holding is below. I am looking to put some money in these sectors to bring my sector allocation as suggested by your Portfolio Analytics.
The time period to hold is long term 5 year plus. Growth stocks preferred. Kindly recommend

1. Should I add to current position or if there are better opportunities kindly recommend them
2. If some of these needs to be replaced with better growth stocks , kindly suggest the same

Q: Great response to Dennis’ Dec 18 question about today’s Tech sector valuations vs. the 2000 Tech bust – one of your finest. I remember it well. I wanted to transfer my 15K Technology mutual fund to something else, but my advisor didn’t think it was a good idea. It eventually shrunk to 2K. Obviously I do my own investing these days.

My question is actually on ARKK. I do like the disruptor make-up of this portfolio. So, besides your above response, I also think that for this reason ARKK is a more solid investment compared to many dot-com stocks 20+ years ago.

However, on the other hand I respect your response to another question that was specific to this ETF. You point out that “The average price/sales ratio of its holdings is 10X, so it needs to be considered very risky.”

Is there any past history on the average P/S that Tech stocks have typically traded at? Or at what approx. ratio would 5i Research feel “more comfortable” in taking a position?

Q: Hello Peter,
For the potential surge in EV stocks in 2022, i am considering investing in rare earths and am trying to decide between Neo Performance in Canada or MP materials in US. Which one do you feel is better for longer term in the EV sector? Also, is there any news on Nuvei for big increase in share price today or is it simply catching up after the short seller report? Which sector looks better to you in the next 4 years , with the expectation of rising interest rates and possibly a correction in the market that I would ride out. Anything else you would consider?
