Q: The Market Data for Nutrien shows a slight decline in earnings from 2023 to 2024 and yet analysts have a median price target of $103.95. If earnings are expected to flat line why would analysts expect price appreciation for the stock?
Also you have mentioned Nutrien is a favourite in materials. What would be your case for buying today.

Q: Hi 5i, and would welcome your review of the recent Quarterly results from SentinelOne, and whether you would consider it as a buy/ hold/ or sell. Do you see any red flags or concerns with the future business prospects or in achieving their march to eventual profitability, and the merits as a long-term hold and any competitive advantage that they may hold in the cybersecurity space. Q: Is it true that Telus's dividend has not been covered between 2020-22 and won't be for the following two years?

Other than the benefits of both this sector's limited competition in our country and
this government's immigration policy that has been put in place, are there any other reasons why Telus holds a relatively large PE valuation relative to the single digit PE's of both AT&T and Verizon?

Q: In your answer to Gary this morning about SMAX and QMAX you stated that they both had less than $1M in assets. Not sure where you're getting your data, but fact sheets from Hamilton's website indicate that SMAX has $85M in assets and QMAX has $50M in assets. Looks like a rather big oopsie to me.

Q: Hello 5i,

Is there a downside (15% tax) of owning US bonds such as VCIT, VCLT, TLT, AGG, in an RRSP. If so, can we apply for an exemption for an RRSP? If not, would you switch to XTLH instead of TLT? Are there can-hedged ETF's for VCIT, VCLT, AGG?

Q: Hi team, I bought WELL.CA back in Nov 2021 in my TFSA to provide some "growth" after viewing in your 5i Growth model portfolio. I am down ~38% and still waiting for the "growth" to take place. I realize it must have been bought in your growth model portfolio back around May 2020 at $2.83 so you're still up 30%. Back in April of this year it looked like there was some promise to the stock but it has since headed to the basement again. You still promote WELL so I'm wondering if I should hang on to this loser (for me) or wait it out? If a sell, what to replace with. I hear rumblings that small caps may take off in 2024? Appreciate your thoughts. Bill

Would you invest?

Q: Ouch !! Energy stocks down 6% in just Today's session. Looks like, many support levels are breaking down. What's your take ? Get out, Buy More or, Do Nothing. Are there any catalysts on the horizon, to provide support ? Shaky grounds for investors in the sector !! There was a comment on CNBC, that, if the sector does not bounce back in this quarter, there could be a repositioning and selling by Institutions and Portfolio Managers/ Hedge Funds, in January, 2024, accelerating the downslide. Q: Hello, I have in my growth-oriented TFSA the following stocks: DSG, NVEI,OTEX, KXS,DOL. I don’t intend to add to any of these, except possibly KXS. I will have funds available in January to add another stock. 1) Do you still believe in KXS enough that it would make sense to top it up? 2) Can you give me your 5 best ideas in growth names (any sector) with a short explanation for each? Ideally names that are not as volatile as NVEI… Thanks!

Q: hi, I feel "overbrookfielded" in my investments. I own BAM, BN, BEPC and BIPC. I'm thinking of selling BAM, and putting the proceeds into BIPC and BEPC ( my position in BN is large enough now ). my thinking is BAM has less potential for capital growth compared to BIPC/BEPC ( and the latter 2 also have a good dividend, like BAM ). I would keep BN for more growth focus. Does this sound reasonable to you ( overall my brookfield investments are about 2.5% of total ). cheers, chris

Q: Looking for the possible positive scenarios in investing in BNS.

If a series of events led to 10%+ inflation (i.e. countries lose the inflation battle), I'm assuming commodities would then become very attractive. Recognizing BNS's Latin America exposure (i.e. commodity producing nations) yet on the other hand also recognizing that persistent high inflation is not necessarily a good thing, would this be a scenario where BNS could become a better investment relative to the other Big 5 ?

Not sure if there are any other positive situations. Mind you their residential mortgage exposure is better than the others.

Q: Looking at Canadian technology stocks. I'm going to assume you figure CSU and SHOP are the mainstays here, so I would like to know how you would rate the following 10 other Cdn technology stocks on a scale of 1-10, for a long term hold, with 10 being a stock you would absolutely want to have in a portfolio and 1 being something of no interest at all. CLS, CTS, DCBO, DSG, GIB.A, KXS, NVEI, OTEX, TCS, VHI. I have included very small company VHI because their recent Q3 looked quite good to me. Also, if there are 1 or 2 that look like very compelling buys at this time, could you indicate which ones please. Thanks.
