Q: Hello, I am considered by 5i's report to be an Alpha Balanced Investor. I am 61 and planning to pull back to consult part time. I have an investment portfolio managed by a broker and have set aside $115K in non-registered funds and $11K in registered funds . Can you please recommend the ETFS and stocks that you would recommend for a. non-registered and b. registered $? Please feel free to take two questions from my balance if appropriate. Also, I am to run this thru dollar cost averaging, what would you recommend in terms of % and frequency to invest the full amount? Thx

Q: What type of bond funds are best to invest in right now? Long term duration or short term, funds or can I buy individual bonds? Could you make recommendations for investing in todays market for the bond side of portfolio. I would prefer to make a 4-5% dividend but don't know if that is possible. Thank you!

Q: Thanks for your RRSP & LIRA information

Please advise how do I check which CDN dividend stocks are eligible. I am in Ontario.

1) Currently I own TD, BNS do they qualify.
2) Do all the stocks in Income portfolio qualify
3) Please share few examples or website that has the list of stocks.


Your answer ( If a Canadian owns ONLY Canadian dividend stocks with eligible dividends, they can earn $48,000 or so completely tax free (the amount varies by province)

Q: I sold SBUX to take a capital loss and bought CMG as a proxy. After comparing growth projections and balance sheets I am wondering if I should bother buying back Starbucks after 30 days or just keep Chipotle. SBUX looks cheaper but maybe cheap for a reason. Can you please compare the two and provide your thoughts as to which one would be better for a long term hold?

Q: My LMN has become 4% of my portfolio - bought most at $17.50 minus the amount given my CSU. I have a 5% position in CSU and virtually no TOI. Sell some LMN to buy TOI? Just buy TOI or considered myself covered by CSU? Growth investor, 10 year horizon. What would you do if it were your account?

Q: For new money, BKNG or UBER? Also, despite having different industry classifications, intuitively it seems that they would be likely to move in concert in the market (I think they have the same Beta), would you agree? When I overlaid 5 year charts, it seems they pretty much moved together except at the end of 2024.
