Q: Hi,
BEP has taken off recently and despite the market's rush to safety and dividend paying stocks, I can't rationalize the quick increase. From my charting work, the current price is as high as it'll go in the near term unless it has some new sources of growth (i.e. acquisitions). I'll also note that its upward move comes with increasing volume, however in the past 2 weeks both price and volume have stagnated (which supports my thesis and chart that this has topped).
AQN, looks better at the moment - similar dividend as BEP, but with more growth potential.
For me, all points lead to selling BEP and looking to buy back in later or initiate in AQN. Can you convince me otherwise?
Cam.

InterRent Real Estate Investment Trust (IIP.UN)
Q: I am considering adding BPY.UN to REITs already owned in my RRSP..This would raise my allocation from 11% to 14%. Do you like this move? Thanks for your great service.
Q: Hello 5i,
I am up 125% on Target (10,000) and down 25% (5,000)on ZPR. Should I sell ZPR and substitute it with something else that you can suggest and sell TGT. This to buy back in a month.
Would you suggest buying back TGT with the full amount gained or get back to the original amounts splitting the proceeds between your suggested replacement for ZPR and TGT?
Should I just keep everything as is, collect the dividends and watch TGT go up? I do not need the funds.
Thank you and please remove the appropriate amount of credits.

Q: Hi 5i Team - Having just read an article in the Star about the renewed potential for fuel cell powered vehicles am just wondering what your opinion on this would be especially given the great need to reduce greenhouse gases. Also are there any specific companies in this field that you think might do well over the next three to five years. Thank you.

Q: Another re-balancing questions as my “fixed income” levels are about 20% below where they should be .... as a retiree. And am holding 20% of my portfolios in cash.
My question is regarding XRB and if that would be an appropriate diversifier to a bond portfolio consisting mostly or your previous recommendations: XLB - CBO -XTR - TLT - CBO and VSC.
At some point interest rates will go up and in the meantime XRB has a 1.86% yield which at least beats cash.
Buy? Pass on this - at least for now? Buy something else as a fixed income diversifier.
As usual thank you for your any guidance you can provide here.

Q: Gentlemen,
I researched this etf, found it's returns to be very competitve, with a return of over 8% and a 5 star Morningstar rating.
Can you look at PTY and give me the strengths and weaknesses from your point of view and whether you would see this as a strong portfolio addition for income and growth.
If you think is is a worthwhile candidate which type of account would you put it in?
Thanks
Sheldon

Q: It has been suggested to me that over the long term, the the average investor like myself is better off buying the indexes VFV with a dividend of 1.64% and XIU with a dividend of 3.61% rather than buying a portfolio of individual stocks. Would appreciate 5I's observation of this comment. Thanks, Bill

Q: I recently came across this website (nickldown.com) which tracks all BNN market call recommendations by analyst.
Congratulations Peter, you've received an A- with 19 of your 36 picks being winners.
Ryan, you've had more winners than Peter, but with less return, thus your score is a bit lower.
Hope others find this interesting, if not useful.
