Q: I’m down on the above stocks in my cash account. Total loss is $6000 CAD. I like the names and want to own these long term. Would you sell and wait the 30 days? Buy proxies? Keep and decide when the madness ends? As always. Thanks.

Q: Hi - I'm trying to get a sense as to how much these companies have the trade/tariff war issues priced in. I know it's a short term question here, but would you wait to buy these great companies given the economic uncertainty? My sense is purely anecdotal, but my gut tells me that people are pulling back on extra spending....so while COST and WMT benefit from people looking for low prices, they may also avoid the spending on extras. Thoughts? In other words, would you expect negative earnings revisions over next few months on these companies? Even if trade war averted (unlikely), they still may miss this quarter as people are already tightening their belts.

Q: I am looking to add some income etfs that are looking attractive in this downturn to my RRSP. I'm looking for combined growth of 8-10% year over year for 10 years for this segment of my portfolio. Do you see either of the above as attractive in this way, or can you suggest something else? I could go to Cdn, but have most of my cash in USD right now.

Q: I was overthinking diversification all night long and got to wondering about purchasing foreign stocks. There are 4 solid Australian stocks that are their "aristocrats".

It seems strange that US/CDN markets are interchangeable yet I can't find how to even buy something listed on the .ASX ( not so simple for Wealthsimple)

Given diversification is so important, do you purchase foreign stocks directly? How so?

I understand that tax treaties and commissions may make the issue pointless. But money is money. Even if it's EUROS or Aussie dollars. Curious about your experiences.

Q: I sold half my holdings in BDT and ARE in December, in a TFSA, with a nice profit. Both are down quite a lot since then. I was planning to buy back to average down. Or take position in more stable stocks like STN or ATRL. How would you rank these 4 for new purchase? in a registered or regular account? Would any of these be more at risk with US politics ? I already own WSP and NOA. Thanks a lot.

Q: I hold WPM and have always preferred it as a senior precious metals royalty play as I think it has the largest silver exposure and I expect silver to catch up at some point soon. I'm considering now whether I should split my position between WPM and FNV as recent news suggests Panama may start talks to perhaps re-open the Cobre Panama mine and FNV would likely have alot of extra upside in that case over time if it happens. How do the 2 compare valuation wise against each other, what are your thoughts on both.

Q: I am an 80 year old income investor with some growth. I have $20,000 to employ. The above is a list of my losers out of 50 winners in a portfolio of mostly the Income Portfolio plus 15 yield maximizer ETF's like UMAX. Should I:
1. wait for your monthly advice before acting
2. distribute evenly accross the losers
3. add to the winners
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Q: I am a senior in my 80s and have long appreciated the insights and research provided through your publications. They have been invaluable in helping me self-educate and manage my investments over the years.

That said, my portfolio has taken a significant hit over the past 3–4 weeks, largely due to the evolving economic and political environment. The ongoing rhetoric between Canada and the U.S., coupled with major changes in our Canadian leadership, has created uncertainty. Additionally, with a federal election approaching in the coming weeks and the impact of tariffs, the investment landscape remains challenging.

I’ve followed Peter’s advice that “the best action is to do nothing,” which I have largely adhered to. I have already sold most of the lower-hanging fruit and currently hold approximately 40% in a money market fund. The remainder of my portfolio is primarily invested in 5i’s three model portfolios.

Given the current environment, I would appreciate your insights on the following:

Do you foresee further downside in the market?
Would it be prudent to sell some of the winners now, or should we hold steady and consider adding to certain positions?
I value your perspective and would greatly appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Q: How much likelihood do you see that some key Canadian resources are sourced in Eastern Europe by the Americans if the Ukraine war should resolve soon? Notably potash from Belarus, uranium from Russia and Aliminum from Ukraine, potentially including others I may know less.
