Q: If cominar reit cut its distribution in half , its yield would still be a healthy 5.7% yield at $12.95 a share. The AFFO payout ratio would fall to 60 %and its share price would be trading at 10X AFFO and a 25% discount to net asset value. So why are investors dumping the stock because of the high yield and temporary 100% plus payout? (my numbers are based on a %1.28 2017 AFFO from TD Waterhouse, projected to rise going forward.)
Q: Hello,
Dollarama is a holding in my kids' Resp. I imagine them shopping there once they move out of residence while at university so see it as one to hold toward near the end of their tertiary education:) That said I have become nervous on its reporting dates (June 7). They have a nice gain and it's a little more than 5% but not quite 6% yet. For a longer term hold should I hold this one or swap it out for mru or loblaw?(defensive sector with less growth). The account also holds atd.b
P.s. I have my first 400% gain with NFI - thanks 5i!

Q: Be sure to catch Peter on noon hour Market Call today (1 PM EST). Phone in with a question (you might mention how valuable this service is if you get on air.)
Q: At today's prices, which of the above companies would you add to and in what order; and which one additional US stock would you buy today.
Thanks,
Terry
Thanks,
Terry
Q: Announcement today about CFO leaving the company and it looks to be effective immediately without further information.
Is this a red flag I should be concerned with?
Thanks
John

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan and 5i Team;
Re: Question on CXI Q1 Report
I stumbled on this Earnings Release Calendar web page a while ago.
http://www.investcom.com/page/earnings_ca.htm
The page did not have CXI listed for June 7 release, but has been ok recently for several other company releases. I hope this is helpful for some members.

Q: What's your take on the daily "blood letting" on the share price of MX of late? I can pretty well sense it's the handy work of certain market manipulators or short sellers (by reading the trading actions), but what makes MX a target of their prey, and why MX?
Q: I'm seeking 5i's insight on the adoption of blockchain technology for trading platforms; this could involve company-to-company trading as well as facilitating trading of securities and commodities on exchanges.
I've taken a small position in BTL Group(BTL.v); how material is the report that BTL technology is facilitating oil trading between ENI Group and an Austrian oil trader? Would buying exchanges such as CME and NDAQ be an additional way to play the adoption of blockchain technology?
Thanks for your thoughts on this

Q: Do you have a more favorable view of the company now, than on March 13, following today's upgrade by Cannacord?
Q: What do you make of the vitriol between activist investors and management of GRT.UN? As a shareholder I have to vote by June 13. I have never before received an email, as I did today, extolling why I should vote in favour of the activists and against management. That said I have enjoyed a fat DIV and a 37% share price increase in the four years since I first bought the stock so you know where my inclination lies!

Q: I just saw my daughter's TFSA and she is down 31%, with the above stocks well in the negative. The only positive stocks were the 3 we recommended to her from 5-I; CGX, PHO and SIS! Would you recommend selling these stocks and moving on? If so, any suggestions would be welcome. She has a cash balance in the account of 9,000.00 and she is down around 11,500.00 at the moment. Thanks for any help you can provide. We have been very pleased with our progress since we joined 5-I! Lesley

Q: What do you think about a long position in HSBC Holding ABR? Since the bank pays pretty high dividend, would you consider it a good long term income position?

Q: Hello Team, I'm thinking about adding AD and HOT.UN to my portfolio for the dividends which are really good.
What are your thoughts on this? How risky are these companies? The AD CEO mentioned he plans to raise the dividend this year. HOT.UN just did a great aquisition. Am I missing something?

Q: I am looking at these two stocks. I like the high growth and industry tail winds. Your comments would be appreciated.
Q: hello 5i:
I believe this is the first question asked on this ETF (Pacer Trendpilot 450). As you are confessed momentum advocates, would you be interested in something like this and could you analyze the ETF please?

Q: I am wondering how to proceed...SIS is held in a well balanced "balanced" portfolio and now it's weighting is 7.8% with 55% unrealized gain. (SIS position is held in TFSA). I'm wondering
which "rule" I follow now....reduce the weighting or let the winner run? How do I decide which one to follow for SIS? Or do I do a compromise and cut the weighting to 6% rather than 5%?
