Q: I have a fairly large holding of FIE. I like the large dividend and considering adding more to my position. What is your opinion about the sustainability of dividends for this ETF? Do you have any other high dividend stock/ETF you can suggest? This is for my TFSA.

Q: I have positions in several ETFs trading on the TSE. I like to keep up to date on major holding changes and weightings within each ETF. Is there a good (one stop shop) source of updated information, other than going on to the separate ETF company websites?

Q: I know you've said in the past that one could replicate FIE relatively easy by owning say 3-4 bank stocks and an insurance company - but I don't think you could get the same yield as FIE, which is close to 8%. Even after subtracting the MER, I don't think you can match the yield (which is somewhat confusing to me).
Can you? If not, would you see a benefit in owning FIE?

Thanks
Robert

Q: My income portfolio consisting of the above equities has taken quite a beating in the recent market downturn. Except for LB, there has been some recovery in prices, and so far dividends have been maintained. I have some excess cash to deploy, and would like your advice on whether to double down on some on my current investments, or your suggestions for other beaten down income investments. Thank you.

Q: I have shares it both of the these Income funds. FIE-T is down 24% and XTR-T is down 12. 42%. in my registered portfolio. I'm thinking of selling the entire position in XTC-T and purchasing more shares in FIE-T . The later has a much higher yield in FIE then XTC-T . Your thoughts ? Is this reasonable. Thanks

Q: I have a ? on ISHARES overall holdings approach. I am not a big ETF holder but own a 3% position in FIE. I am in the annual review process and was surprised to see the top two holdings of the fund are other ISHARE products, making up almost 30% of their holding. Is this typical with iShares investing so much with their own product. Its not giving me the level of bank and insurance company investment I would of thought. CPD makes up about 20% and I already hold a 2% holding in that fund. Your view please.

Q: Please provide a comparison on CPD,FIE, and XTR. My objective is dividend income and security. Can all 3 be owned ? If not which do you prefer ? Or provide a better choice ?
Many thanks,

Q: Hi 5i Team.

I have positions in the three ETFs listed above representing financial and Canad/US real estate sectors. The ETFs are at a reasonable cost and provide good yields. What is 5i's opinion about these three ETFs.

Thanks

Q: I am developing an income portfolio which will fund our retirement as we have minimal pension income. We are looking for monthly income that is relatively stable. We have a number of the big Cdn banks and Utilities owned in this portfolio. Which of the 2 monthly income funds would you prefer?
Thanks

Q: I am 70 years old, retired, with a small company pension (not indexed), and rely on investment income for expenses. I am also a conservative investor with 85% of my portfolio in laddered GIC's. For the remaining 15%, I would like a balance of income and growth, combined with maximum geographic diversification. What do you think of this remaining 15% being divided into 30% FIE (which I already hold), 30% XIN, and 40% XAW? I have been with 5i since your inception and greatly appreciate the advice you offer. Thank you.

Q: Hi 5i,
I currently own 23 stocks (non reg. and RSP) including the following which in some cases I've owned for over a decade: HR.un,AP.un, T, BCE, H, IPL, ENF, VET, ESN, CSU, GIB.a, ATD.b, WSP, TD, FIE. Which of these above positions would you consider candidates for replacement considering 2018 market conditions(rising interest rates, NAFTA, etc.) And, regardless of specific selection criteria, how would you rate the following replacement candidates or others: AQN, PKI, ERF, PBH, AFN, CM,KXS, PHO?

Please consider # of credits you deem appropriate.
Thanks,

Q: I am a 66 yr. old, dependant on my investment portfolio for almost all my income. I often hold equity positions for much too long and have suffered 60-100% losses in some stocks like Guestlogix, Paladin Energy, Avion/EDV Gold. Currently my largest holdings are: CSU, IPL, PSK, VET, H, TD and HR.UN. I am looking to replace some of the previous with the following names: SLF, MRT>UN, TCL.A, ENF, and FIE or FIE.A
Could you please RATE the positions held vs. the possible relacement positions and please provide colour on 'best' between the FIE's.

Thanks and fell free to consider as many credits as warranted.
