“NorthWest Healthcare reported Q3-2022 results and updated on a few key initiatives.
Adjusted funds from operations dropped sharply and dividend payout ratio hit 133%.
Dividend cut looks highly probable in 2-4 quarters.”
The share price of NWH has been weak as of late, but the reaction to the quarter wasn’t terrible; ending the trading day down 1.01%.
What would be 5i’s assessment of the quarter and SA’s prognosis?
Would you view this as a hold or a sell? I had purchased NWH for income going into retirement thinking that the dividend should be relatively stable.

Q: In my non-registered account, I have had small holdings in MRG.UN and NWH.UN for years, as well as larger holdings in ZRE and FIE. I was wondering if I should consider selling all four and splitting the proceeds between GRT.UN, CAR.UN, CPX, and SLF. I am looking for income but would also like some capital appreciation.

Q: I have never owned a REIT but started looking at a couple. In doing so I realized that I really don’t know what to evaluate in a REIT (beyond type of asset - land, commercial, residential, specialty) and things I normally see as red flags may not be here. Can you tell me a few of the most important fundamentals to look at when comparing REITS (negatives to watch out for specifically, and positive indicators). For example my initial concerns were steady increases on common shares outstanding (seems acceptable and typical of all REITS) and what debt levels are acceptable. If you could tag your favourite REITS today I would appreciate. I have only looked at LAND and IIPR so far.

Q: I have held NWH for several years at about a 2% position, and am considering adding another 1-1.5%. While I have been pleased with the performance/dividends over the years, I am also looking at MPW, which would add some $US, pays a better dividend, is larger and is more US-oriented. Could you compare the two stocks in terms of debt, P/NAV, dividend sustainability, payout, etc, and comment on whether you think they would complement each other to some degree (or is it more of the same). Buy MPW or more NWH, or is the position getting a little large in a specialized area?

Just a follow up to my previous question Redding TCN. My observation after some research leads me to believe that NWH has not only fallen less on hard markets than TCN and pays a 6.2% dividend substantially more than TCN
