In rebalancing my portfolio, I find that I am sadly lacking in tech stocks. At present, I have: CSU 4%, KXS 1.5%, Shop 0.4%. Could you suggest options to bring the total up to about 15% and designating whether they would be better suited for an RRIF or TFSA account? As a senior, I should be more conservative but, at the same time, I can stand some risk.
Q: Please help me to understand why SYZ is not going up after a solid Q.Thanks for u usual great services & views. Looking forward to seeing Peter on BNN on Aug 22
Q: Although recognizing the potential of Envidia I have chosen to take profits and move on. I don't wish to Abandon the semiconductor space and as a result am looking at ON. Recognizing this is a US company I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks
Q: Hello, I am thinking of lightening up on SHOp where I am almost at 9% and buying AAPl as a replacement where I already have a half position. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. I am not quite sure why Apple is raising money in the form of bonds..while it has a lot of cash.
But the next version of iphones are much anticipated..I get this insight from my teenage children.cheers Shyam
Q: I've noted in the Q&A section you continue to support both CSU AND CGNX. I already own CSU and note that with all the 'noise' these days it seems to go about its business and is much more stable than some of the other tech. companies. Would you consider CGNX to be the same kind of company and do you think it would be a top American company to complement CSU? Are there 1 or 2 other tech. companies (Canadian or American) you could recommend that you favour that would help me to gain good diversification to the technology sector. As further guidance, I appreciated Mike's caution about the importance of being patient, but I must admit, I personally find it easier to maintain my patience when I'm invested in less volatile companies. As always, I appreciate your guidance.
Q: There are currently no obvious cyber security etfs listed in Canada. Do you have a short list of Canadian-listed cyber security stocks that I can make up my own pseudo-etf. As a long-time subscriber, thank you for your service.
Q: You answered a question yesterday for the top five tech stocks you would recommend. Surprised you omitted KXS - is this because of the Samsung thingy? Your answer to a later question on KXS indicated that you didn't think this was a problem. Is there some other reason it wasn't included in your top five?
Q: Hi 5i: I am down about 20% in CLS. Has anything fundamental changed in the company? I note that management prediction for the next quarter was reduced. I am considering selling CLS and buying Shopify instead. What would you think of such a move?
I am once again trying to clean up my portfolio and currently have no tech stocks. Can you please recommend your top 5 tech stock picks, they can be US or Canada?
Q: I receive email alerts for the stocks I own or are thinking of buying through Seeking Alpha. Harned Khorstand put out a sell on AAOI saying the stock was going to $25.00 and he gave the reasons why. What do you make of this? Thanks Dennis
Q: I have been following your balanced portfolio. Have been reading questions and answers. Am thinking of selling a full position in Engh and purchasing otex or constellation software. What do you think? T as always
Q: In adding a security ROE not significantly below 20% ; PEG not TOO far above 1.0-1.4 : these together with reasonable forward P/E are top of mind in in key things I look for.
I would be thankful for your response and comment on the following issues:
1. Does KLAC meet most of my critical factors, do you think ?
2. Would you personally buy KLAC at or near current prices?
3. Does your analysis indicate probability of strong growth in the next 2 to 4 years?
4. Is the stock reasonably (fairly) valued relative to industry prospects using GARP thinking?
5. Does KLAC have strong competitors around the world?
