Q: Many experts, including yourselves, have picked TVE in the mid cap space. I have owned it for about 8 months and it has not been keeping pace with other midcap energy stocks.
Could I get your thoughts on the reasons and do you still like it. If not, could you recommend a couple other names.
Q: I own TOI at a considerable loss and thinking of a tax loss sale with possible later re-purchase. Any thoughts on what Topicus might do over the next few months?
Thanks
Q: It appears that the acquisition of Link is going to happen. Is this going to be a catalyst for the stock? Investors don't seem to be convinced of the benefits of the deal since the stock after a jump Thursday is somewhat flat Friday.
I'm deep under water on this one. I can be patient when a stock is broken but not so sure if the company is not broken in this instance. Now what?
Q: Back on Aug 15 you replied to Adam "AT has bought back 3.5M shares so far in 2022".
I can see it's a good thing in that the company "believes its share are undervalued" and has "excess cask balances."
My question is: how significant is this? And do you know if the company is continuing to buy back shares given the current market value.
Thanks John
Q: Today, do you see more future growth from owning a S&P 500 etf like VFV or from a balanced equity (BE) portfolio? I own all the BE stocks in my portfolio, and I have some new money to invest. Which 4 BE stocks would you over weight at this time ie what is your highest conviction stocks? Could you give a brief reason why? Would you wait until the US Feds raise rates coming in September? The markets dropped the last time the Fed raised the rate. Do you know the date? Or just invest right now?
Q: Retired, dividend-income investor. I have held NWC since 2019, trimming when my position exceeded my asset allocation target. If I wanted to top up my current position, would you wait for the price action to settle down? I know this is a "market timing" question.
Q: Taking into consideration current valuations and quality of these companies please rank these companies. Do any in particular look like interesting buys at the moment?
Thank-you.
