Q: Hello 5i team,
What is your take at this point for Gildan? How much cash do they have on hand?
I bought around the same time as your recommendation ($49.33). At the current price of ~$20.50, would you be reviewing this holding or are you still quite comfortable until the world returns to normal. When is the next quarter?
Thank You,
Andrew

Q: Hello 5i,
I read your answer to Jim today re: COVID 19 and a "second wave".
While I realize this virus is unique and how it reacts is somewhat unknown, your comment about a second wave happening now in the US was expected gave me pause.
My understanding is a second wave happens after a marked decline in initial infections(New York/New Jersey). As I see what is happening in the US now it seems this is a continuation of the first wave due to poor management in the states showing increases and that a true second wave could affect New York and New Jersey (and the rest of the country) later this year. I'm hoping for the best but fearing the worst is yet to come. I would appreciate your feedback!
Thanks
Dave

Q: Thoughts please on the latest acqusition of Vricon and the the refinacing of some debt at better rates ? The stock has certainly been on a tear since earnings release in May. Still own this from when you had it in the BE portfolio and am thinking of adding to it on the positive momentum. Thx

Q: hello 5i Research team, PHO: 3 of the 5 board members only got 75% or 76% of « vote for » at the annual meeting. This is quite unusual. Could you identify some potential significant investors that would have voted against? Are awhere of anything about those persons that would explain this? Should I worry, especially with a new president? Can we expect some divergence of opinion between management and shareholders that could cause some change in the organization? Thank you for your collaboration, Eric
Q: We always hear about companies like Intuitive and Stryker but what about Conmed? It also supplies joint replacements, patient monitoring and advanced surgical equipment.
Q: Hello 5i,
I am aware that the CAD markets are tied closely to the US markets; evidently with the S&P500/TSX composite. However, I don't fully understand it in the context of emergence from the COVID crisis. Canada has performed much better and it seems like reopening is more realistic here than in the US.
My question is, would it be possible for some CAD stocks to outperform and be disconnected with the USD markets since we are handling the crisis relatively better? If so, what sectors and top 3 stocks in those sectors would you pick?
Please deduct credits as you find appropriate.

Q: We are now down about 7% on the S&P from the recent high. The virus is rising vigorously in parts of the U. S. If you guys were traders ( which I know you are not) would you see this as a signal to take profits and raise cash?? Or, to put it another way, do you see a likelyhood of a correction back close to the 200-day average, where we are now?? Thanks Jim

Q: I know U.S listed Chinese companies are likely not your primary focus but I'm very interested in some of the tech based companies China is producing (KC.US specifically). I understand there are political risks but do you see 3-5 companies that you find VERY interesting as a mid-term hold? Or is this a space too filled with risk to bother?
Q: Since you last spoke about GSI in March, the company has announced a multitude of contracts. As a result, its momentum has become extremely positive and its market cap has now tripled to $35M. With good future potential but recognizing that it's still very small and high risk, is it starting to become more interesting?
Q: I believe you have had favourable comments and outlook for both of these stocks in the past. In our current environment can you indicate your preference for a long term hold, and perhaps a brief discussion of any risks that go with the potential rewards?

Q: I have been keeping a lot of money out of the market for most of this year waiting for stability to return. Bonds seemed to be pretty much a pointless investment to me for the last few years but I've reconsidered. Putting a chunk of cash into a bond etf seems better than just leaving it in my account where it earns next to nothing. On the other hand, it's safe where it is. How safe are bond ETFs? I'm particularly thinking of bond ETFs which don't seem to bounce around much like BLV, VLB, and XLB, but which seem to have done well YTD.
Q: What is your opinion of buying into the recently announced offering of convertible debentures versus just buying the common shares? Thanks for the great service.
Q: Can you please provide us with your comments with respect to the shut down of Line 5 in Michigan?
A couple of brokers view this as "Negative" with respect to the ENB's valuation.
Thanks
