Q: Hi Folks,
For my RRSP account I am looking at adding one of MFC, SLF or GWO. May I have your opinion as to which one you feel would be best taking the dividend and growth in consideration.

Q: I am 90 years of age . Is it time to sell all my stocks and go short term investments yielding 5 plus RAK

I see stores in the future with no inventory coming from China and stores mom and pop operations going out of business plus big stores as well.

Q: hi 5i,
I have the above 4 in my TFSA. I am considering selling ATZ ( due to tariff concerns vis a vis Aritzia manufacturing in China/Vietnam/etc. ). I own ATZ in another account and will keep it there. I would deploy the proceeds of a potential ATZ sell in the TFSA to the other 3 remaining equities, or perhaps to another equity if you have any other better suggestions currently ( CDN equities only please ). cheers and thanks, Chris

Q: It is sometimes unclear who actually composes some of the posts on the 5i Blog page. The latest “Rockets and Duds” posted April 28 just as an example has Chris White’s name at the top but Peter’s signature at the end. If Peter’s signature is there does it mean that he wrote it?

Q: I believed that these 4 North American railroad Cies constituted a relatively safe investment ,considering the present world uncertainties . I invested during the last 5 months and losses on paper are now up to 25 % . Any suggestion / impression for each Cie, my goal being financially safe Cies . Q: Seeking your guidance and insight on my poor investment made in Dow Inc. I made to increase exposure in materials back in March 2022. I'm sadly down 50% in my registered account on DOW. I’m weighing whether to hold long-term or if this might be a permanent value trap and loss? The stock offers a high dividend, but I’m concerned about the risk of a potential cut. (classic) Since it’s in a registered account, I can’t write off the loss. Could you share your thoughts on continuing to hold through an entire cycle and the outlook over 2-5 years and any strategic considerations for my situation? Do I book the loss or hold on that their situation improves in due time. Much appreciated.

Q: As a longtime holder of BNS representing 8% of my cash account (4 % total accounts ) with banks representing 30 % of total portfolios, I am getting impatient waiting for the “ new “ President to make his mark. With TFII suffering from tariff malaise and WSP dropping because of a sale of shares by the Caisse , I see this as an opportunity to get into these 2 growthier stocks. I can live with the resulting drop in dividend income. I would have a loss on BNS.

Would you make the trade or hold on to BNS ?

Q: Recently a BNN guest was making the case for investing in UnitedHealth after the big decline in share price. Do you view this as one that an investor with a long term view could begin picking away at now, or do you feel things have changed fundamentally and it should be avoided at least for now?
