Q: Hi Peter and team,
Recent PR from IPL regarding the 3.5 B project is confirmed, Market doesn't like it with SP down 7% in two days, at least for short term reaction. interesting, PPL's December Corp Update Ppt, showing " Pembina is proposing development of a world-scale, integrated PDH/PP facility in Alberta's Industrial Heartland " Here is the question, :
Is the same project (PP/PDH facility) or different ones ?
If the same one then IPL decided to go ahead, would PPL take it off from its to do list ?
As PPL's 2018 Budget doesn't show any major spending on PDH/PP project and still showing in progressing... no final decisions... .

I want you to know how much I appreciate the excellent service you provided for us. As a small and first time investor ( I joined you service a year ago and it took me some months to deploy both my wife and mine- very very hard earned TFSA savings -). With the help of you guys via the wonderful client base who are quick to hit button to ask questions and they didn’t give me a chance to as ask one (mark me down for one question for reading this), I’m investing with confidence. Our consolidated portfolio is performing very well with a lots of ++ and less --) including a good move with PUR.TO with 120% gain since I bought it. Merry Christmas and happy holidays,

Q: This is a follow up to a recently answered a question about the p/e on CSU but pertains to other companies as well.

When calculating this valuation metric, is the share price in Canadian Dollars and the earnings in US dollars? Or is there an adjustment made to have the same currency in both numerator and denominator? If the currency is not adjusted then the p/e would be artificially inflated by 30% or so.

Q: For new money being invested in 2018 and assuming the US passes tax cuts/reform what percentage of one's portfolio would you allot to 1)Canada, 2)US and 3)Global/International?
Also considering roughly 10 sectors what 3-4 sectors would you focus on and could you give a large, mid-small cap stock for each.

Q: I am looking to move some cash after a year end portfolio clean up. I am considering 25% in each of VSC and VSB, 25% in PMIF, 25% in XHY. Would you recommend different ETFs and/or % allocations?

Sincere thanks to you and 5i for all the great advice. Checking this morning WSP, TD, SIS are our biggest holdings, and WSP, SIS, & PEO our current biggest net gainers. Would never have thought about WSP SIS, PEO or most of our other holdings without 5i. A fantastic and humbling service.

Q: Having been a member for a long time, I have accumulated a lot of favorite questions. A lot of these are now obsolete. Is there a quicker way to delete a block of these rather than just going back to the earliest pages and undoing each heart (one by one) on the page and then clicking on the next page. My main goal is to free up some memory on your servers.

can you comment on the ETF above please? And, can you list the Canadian equivalent, assuming there is one. Would this ETF pursue a strategy you would endorse?
While many have expressed their satisfaction with the service (ditto for me), I'd like to commend Peter on the vision and drive necessary to grow what has become a top notch service. And looking back to the beginning, hasn't it been a fun ride?

Q: My 29 year old son has $40,000 in a tfsa all in cash. So far, he has little interest in investing. I'm thinking as a possible way to get him interested (and to at least get some kind of return) of suggesting to him that he put $35,000 into a Cdn equity etf and $5,000 into a growth stock. (I would really like for him to just put it into say 4 growth stocks but if the whole thing tanks it will be "dad's fault".) He also has his employer DC pension plan (2 or 3 years in) in which he's invested in life-cycle funds.

Could you recommend an etf and stock for his tfsa? Or would you suggest some other completely or slightly different route to go with his tfsa? Thank you.
