Q: Hello,

Current portfolio is well balanced. Two sectors that are eligible for tops ups are materials and consumer discretionary. If you had to pick between wef and cliq for a long term hold, which would you choose to buy first?

Regards,

Robert

Q: Aecon winning contracts and with the takeover off the table and stock back to $16 is it a good buy now or do you still prefer WSP Stantec or snc. And which ones have the least amount of debt and would withstand a slowdown much better.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

My question is about what is the best strategy and behavior during a downturn in the markets?

From my reading of previous answered questions and on other posts on the internet, the advice seems to be, do not sell while the market is dropping. How can one be disciplined enough not to do it? What if one stock in our portfolio is dropping more that the rest during a downturn in the markets? At what point while the market is dropping, should we consider buying more quality stocks?

Thanks again for your good work.

Q: watching these two companies share price roll over - i see a comment on PBH about quarter coming and market worried, but isn't this more about heavy debt loads whose share prices have done extremely well and the ramifications of higher rates? PBH has $480M of debt! BYD $250M

Q: Hi,
Have inflationary pressures become real due to the tarrifs? Do you expect this to start having impact on prices and therefore on the stock market? I suspect Trump might back pedal once these tariffs start impacting markets. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Q: At 75 years of age I am not comfortable holding a full portfolio of stocks in a world that is so dependent on tweets from a malevolent idiot. Thus I have moved a large portion of my holdings to cash, and have built a GIC ladder as my main attempt at capital preservation. I am now looking for stocks or ETFs that provide good income with a relatively low risk of capital loss. SRU.UN was recommended on BNN recently, in particular because Walmart represents about 1/4 of its holdings. Does this rationale make sense to you, and do you think SRU would be suitable for my new capital preservation portfolio? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your great advice, as always.

Q: First off, my apologies to all the members for the recent sell-off in the markets. I should have warned your readers that I decided to put some money to use at the end of last week so there would inevitably be a sell-off not too long afterwards.

But seriously, I was wondering if you could provide any insight/feedback/critique into whether it makes sense to view the projected growth in market development in African nations in the coming years and decades as a viable investment thesis. If so, do you have any suggestions on how to invest in Africa? A cursory exploration led to Fairfax Africa (FAH.U) - does this seem like a worthwhile investment? Are there any other suggestions I could investigate further?

Thanks in advance,
Rory
