Q: I am considering adding an ETF that provides coverage of assorted/balanced commodities. I would appreciate having some names that you would recommend; Canadian or USA. What is your opinion of adding a position as an uncorrelated asset to balance an all equity portfolio. I hold diversified energy holdings already (pipelines and producing companies in both oil and gas). I also hold mining stocks, RIO and AEM.

Q: This etf seems to have come out of the latest downturn without to much difficulty, so wandering what the reason for this latest performance. Is it because of the fairly low fees, or the quality of the stocks being held or is it a combination of a number of factors. I am thinking of investing in this etf for the long haul. Many tnx.

Q: A BNN guest said the Co. or someone else said they predicted that in 5 years the Co. would have $30. per share of cash flow which should mean a share price of $170. Are you aware of any such report?

Q: I am donating some of my CSU shares (20% of holding) and am considering whether or not these should be replaced in my portfolio. Currently, CSU is 3% of my investment portfolio and 6% of my equity portfolio (before the donation). When you speak to 5% as a ceiling for exposure, is that in the total portfolio or the equity portion of the portfolio?

Q: To follow up on my previous question regarding holdings best suited for TFSAs, I had forgotten CSU from the holdings list. Would you consider a good holding for a TFSA ? Thanks in advance.

Q: Thinking about Martin’s question ( March 19) and your response, specifically on ROC. I own UMAX in a RRIF. I Look at its 14% yield as more than enough to cover the approximately 6% ( and rising) mandatory withdrawal, thus not negatively affecting my cash flow. I also see the ROC as lowering my unit price and thus the mandatory withdrawal amount. Is my thinking right on this ? Thanks. Derek.

I'm looking to decrease some of my US investments and want to sell XUS (I also own VFV). I'm looking at either VIU or XEF as a replacement for XUS. Does this make sense and if so do you have a preference for either of these ETFs or would you recommend something else as a replacement?

do you see any data/signs of money flows out of US markets. I am wondering if there is the start of loss of confidence in the US markets for foreign investors (and domestic) vis a vis the current government?
Further, where do you see money flowing into right now or shortly ( China, Europe/Germany, Canada )?

Q: First of all, thank you 5I for all these companies.

These are my only holdings in tech at the moment.

I have a present LOSS of 3.76% on GLXY;
a GAIN OF 52.08% on Lumine;
a GAIN of 57% on SHOP,
and a GAIN of 19.99% on TOI.

Needless to say, I'm very happy with these returns, even if GLXY is wobbling at the moment.

Do you see this as a good time to add to all/any of these positions at this time, with a quick rationale.

I still have lots of room to add to my tech positions at this time, so if I'm not adding to these, would you recommend another "growthy" company or two.

Thanks to 5 I, I've killed my "Chicken Little" personality from long ago, and am quite comfortable riding out the vacillations of the marketplace. : )
