Q: I am retired and my portfolio is defensive with an emphasis on income. I bought KBL in 2012 at 29.12 based on your research. I sold off some in 2016 to rebalance my portfolio. While I have done very well overall with this stock, its performance over the last two years has been poor and I am considering eliminating it from my portfolio. Should I reconsider? I don't mind being patient but do not want to wait and watch any holding become a long term yield trap.

Q: Hello Peter and Team,

Thanks for another year of market out performance.

I am thinking of cleaning up both RRX and HWO (which are in an non-registered account) and taking the capital losses, and consolidating the money in WCP. Can you give me the pros and cons of this switch?

Thanks for all you do.

Wes

Q: Hello Team -
My understanding is that in a rising inflation environment, commodities tend to also generally rise. If we see a gradual increase inflation over the next 12-24 months would you expect to see the NTR and TOU stock prices also rise as a result?

Thanks.
Jim

Q: I have to sell some oil and gas companies to generate losses to offset some gains.I will be selling ARX,BNE,CPG,SPE,SU and WCP.
I wish to stay in the sector,so please recommend several companies to replace the above companies for the 30 day period (or perhaps an ETF).
Which of the companies being sold would you recommend buying back after the 30 days?

Q: Just an observation after following some frustrated posts the last few days. Members have the opportunity to add RHT today at what appears to be within $.04 of where you added to the portfolio. You guys definitely moved the market on it but this should be a lesson to subscribers to take your advice but be patient with it and wait for the right time to add to their own portfolio rather than rush to join the herd if there is an initial run up.

Q: Good morning, between CCL.B and RPI.UN which would you view as a 'better' company to initiate a position in now? Assuming a long term view (5-10 years).

thanks

Q: I hold AMGN and see from your recent responses that it's a 5i favorite. The metrics do not appear to justify your support, so I wonder if I am looking at the wrong data. PEG is sky high (over 4); forward P/E is almost 14 ; ROE is only 6.6. The data above is from a premium site which differs from the Yahoo Finance site which shows forward P/E at 13.09 and PEG at 3.3 with ROE at only 7.18. Net margins do look healthy but I cannot tell from 3 sites I checked whether net margin % data is fwd looking or refers to historical.

Although AMGN appears to have been a dividend grower (not a dividend aristocrat that I know of ) , it’s dividend payout is very high at 171%.

Yet there must be something about AMGN that you like a lot.... perhaps something not shown on reported data. Is it AMGN's pipeline? Projected cash flow? I would prefer not to sell my holding until I can understand what it is about AMGN that you like so much. I would appreciate your insight very much (am not looking so much for basic or raw numbers available on popular sites---but I really would appreciate your thoughts, thanks).
