Q: I hold BAM, BIP.UN, BIPC, BEP.UN, BEPC and BN in a non registered account. For September and December dividend payments, I noticed that a withholding tax was applied to BIP.UN. For tax purposes, would any of the 6 stocks listed be better off in a registered account?

Q: Hello 5i, Could you comment on the Transmountain Pipeline as to the price that they are getting on there oil shipped from Burnaby BC. I see the oil is sent to Asia and the USA. Is the price the same for both buyers and how does it compare to Brent oil as the idea of the pipeline was to get world price for Alberta oil. Also how do these oil prices compare to oil shipped to the USA from Alberta to the USA by pipeline and Rail cars.

Q: Hi, I live in BC where the above companies were just awarded 3 wind projects each totaling about 550MW with 30 year electricity purchase agreements from BC Hydro. (First Nations will have at least 51% ownership of the projects.) Both companies pay a good dividend, but seem to have seen better days. I am just wondering whether you answer questions about companies this small and if so what do you think of their current state of affairs and prospects for the future?

Q: I currently own both the above and both are winners for me at this point. The PE's are
about the same but CNQ dividend is higher and is a much bigger company. What do you think about selling TVE and buying more CNQ? Q: Can you give me your updated thoughts on Evolution Gaming? The stock keeps getting cheaper, and it has some good fundamentals but a few issues they are dealing with. Do you see this as an opportunity of falling knife? Thx

Q: I realize this is quite Apple and oranges. In a taxable account I have held J&J for a long time so have a nice gain. Not much growth happening right now. Your thoughts on a change to CNQ for a better dividend and more growth potential? Thank you

Q: Good day and happy New Year to all the 5i staff. This is my first, and hopefully last multi stock question.

I am really beginning to take Trump seriously about tariffs. His reasons don’t hold up, but I believe he has unstated reasons of his own for wanting to do so. I don’t usually jump quickly but I have a bad feeling and am thinking of selling some Canadian holdings and buying US. I am wondering what you would think of this?

Even if my fear is justified, though, some of the stocks I am considering may do well under Trump’s regime, anyway. The above stocks are the ones i am considering and i would appreciate your views on whether they might do alright under Tariffs? Any other Canadian stocks you might think will react particularly badly?

Q: Currently my entire allocation of money market funds is in PSA which currently pays just over 4%. However , rates are dropping in Canada. I am considering moving all my money market allocation to ZUCM which appears to be an American dollar money market paying over 5 % . I believe rates are less likely to decline in the US.
Do you like this strategy ?
Do you prefer a different American dollar money market account ?

Looking for more exposure to the space industry. Currently own MDA but I am looking for additional stocks in the industry for a long term 10yr+ hold.

Would you be able to recommend any other Canadian/US stocks that are similar (and most likely larger) than MDA?

Q: I was going to buy this last summer around $50 but I was scared off by a barrage vandalism,threats,fires and threats to CEO and another board member.
Looking back now with the stock at $65 and a recent divesture of waste division do you see much upside for this stock price and also do you think my concerns were paranoia or justified. Thanks
