Q: I am a long term holder of GE, and ALA. Even-though the market has been good these stocks continue to go down.
In your opinion, should they be kept or should I take some of the gain before it dwindles away.

Q: I'm holding about 5% of my investments in cash in a US dollar account and looking to invest in a blue chip dividend paying stock. Maybe one of the two above or another name you like. I'm 80 so dividend and low risk is what I would like to find.
Thanks for your great service

Q: I have had Altagas for over 4 years. I would like your opinion, should I sell or look for something better and if so what do you suggest.

In my US portfolio I have four stocks of which 22% are GE, would this be a good time to add more GE

Q: Peter and Team,

I hold basically the balanced equity portfolio with CSW.A,KBL,and L added plus a portfolio I've been building to US/International. In the US/International portfolio I currently hold XYL, SBUX, V, JNJ, and VXUS. I was considering selling some or all of L and CSW.A to add some more international names and was thinking initially of GE and PFE. These changes would be made within an RRSP (the entire portfolio is spread over TFSAs, RRSPs, and RESP).

What are your thoughts on such a move? I should point out that L is less than 1% weighting and CSW.A is approximately 3% of total equity exposure.

Are there other US/International names I should focus on?

Thanks,

Marc

Q: I am now flat on berkshire which I bought as a proxy for the US economy. With the shares not doing much for a while I was thinking of switching to General Electric which looks like it is preforming better in the last couple of years. What is your opinion.

Q: GE seems to be divesting its low margin businesses and becoming more of an industrial company again. I would expect a smaller and more profitable GE going forward. It's PE is below the general market and pays a good dividend. Is this a pound the table buy considering its fundatmentals and growth profile?

Q: GE... while being a holder of GE right now with the recent down turn may not have much appeal, this is a quality well diversified company which should be able to take advantage of any US recovery over the next few years. My questions are at what price do when think would be a good entry point or, do you think an investor should wait until April when quarterly results will be published?

Thank You 5i family
