Q: I would like to know what you can suggest as a canadian bond ETF that is reliable and gives a decent performance. I currently have XGB (IShares Cdn Government Bond Index ETF) but the yield is low. Previously I had MFT (Mackenzie Floating Rate Income ETF) giving a better yield. Is one is better than the other or is there a better choice? Also, is there any bond that instead of giving a yield gives a capital gain? It would be particularly interesting for my non registered account since I want to reduce the amount of interest that I receive to avoid clawback.

Q: I'm trying to get control of the major components of the Brookfield Corporation and what percentage of the company they make up. I understand that BEPC AND BIP.UN are parts of the group and that they seen to be adding to its success. My question is what percentage of the company do they make up and what other major segments of the company exist and what percentage of Brookfield do they comprise? I currently own some shares. Q: I was wondering if a managed portfolio account with one of the "wealth management" departments at a large Canadian bank (RBC, BMO etc.) is charged transactional fees for securities buys and sells in addition to the quarterly % fee?
In other words, if a stock is purchased in such an account is there a "hidden fee" added to the ACB (adjusted cost base) for the transaction?
I've noticed that on the monthly statements the "unit price" for purchasing a Canadian equity usually has 3 decimal points for the unit cost. That leads me to believe that they are including a fee in the unit price which distorts the unit cost. Am I wrong?

Q: Hello.
This question may cause some issues or even an uproar amongst some of your members but we live in a free society and I am entitled to question what I feel like and air my views and opinions as I see fit.
China, for most part has been a bully to Canada including other counties like Australia and India. In my view , we should be moving away from Chinese companies, not working with them. I for example sold my position in SHOP purely because of their alliance with a Chinese company.
Many of these companies have bad work ethic not to mention stealing of information. How can we trust them?
Why would a Canadian company like SHOP do something like this when our relationship with China has never been worse. We should be boycotting them until they clean up their act.

Q: In a follow up to a previously asked question on REAL by Gilles, what can we expect when it reports, $46 Million in revenue. Are you sure? Their last quarter came in at $118 Million according to Morningstar.
